My Studio for Creating Educational YouTube Videos
It’s a Studio Tour!
As an educator, I think creating videos can be a massive benefit to your students as well as help you teach more effectively. A few years back I started creating videos for YouTube and over time I’ve built out a little studio – so I thought I’d give a tour.
Things in the Studio.

Enjoyed the video, especially the cat accessory. I spend a lot of time learning and teaching online, using Teams and Zoom, and would be interested in technology that made this easier.
I’ve set up my dining room as my office. My only roommate is the cat, whose interruptions during videoconferences seem to be welcome, so although I have many other rooms to use, this is where I prefer to hang out. I also prefer to keep things simple – just a Mac Mini with two monitors, a good web cam and headphones. Lighting is from the window and several adjustable lamps. I’m trying to keep everything simple, as minimal as possible.
I’d be interested in learning more about how to add variety to teaching using minimal equipment like this. I have an iPhone, but am considering getting a new iPad and an adjustable arm so I can display documents. I’d also be interested in Mac software for making learning materials, maybe even for YouTube eventually.
Very impressive! Please show how you teach a class using minimal but essential technology.
Wow this is quite ingenious and versatile.
