  • If you reddy with sanding en get painting you got honor off the job you done 🤗🤗

  • To do a 'proper' job all the deck fittings need to be removed, makes working around them much easier. I think that the 'ten foot' rule only applies to buildings, not boats! However you cannot have perfection in an imperfect world!

  • The ten foot rule is a real thing. Don't over do stuff, only you will appreciate the super fine details

  • Comment number three when sanding in the rounds joines try using a six inch piece of pool noodle it will confer to the corners and save your fingers, unless your hiding your finger prints from the police that is

  • Agreed with the sander. I have one that collection box is a really bad design. I’m a Milwaukee dealer I’ve told them but they didn’t listen to me 😂

  • Oh I forgot if you mix a small amount of polester resin with it will be easyer to apply

  • Mate there is a car bog that has fiberglass strands in it I think it would be ideal for filling those dimples good luck

  • The answer is always go for dinner 🤣 good to see some progress. It’s not been a great year for outdoor work.

  • Gidday mate, it's me again, the Sikaflex commenter. You're doing great with the windows and I feel your pain with the sanding. No, the 10 foot rule won't work because when you are sitting in your cockpit you're not 10 foot away from your dodgy paintjob. A pro spray painter told me once 95% of a good paintjob is the preparation. Painting it is the easy bit. What will speed up your sanding is to remove every screwed on fitting on the boat including those wood rub rails. That will give you more machine sanding less hand sanding. Most of the fittings will need rebedding anyway to stop leaks. Then you can fill all the dings and holes with an easily sanded epoxy fairing filler (see West System epoxy and fairing powders) light sand, then your ready to paint. Have fun.

  • your gonna need better sanders, get a grinder with a soft disc…and you will get quick results then finish with the orbital😉

  • If you could find a way of hooking up a shop vac to your sander dust collector your disks would last 2 or 3 times as long, as those disks are just becoming clogged with the dust, the cutting ability is still there, but you need to capture that material in a vacuum bag rather than in the discs!

  • I recommend knifing stopper. Once you get in a rthym it's very quick to full in all the nicks and dings.
Also suggest removing all the fittings before paint.

  • Sorry to say it but it’s a long way of the standard you require. We can tell with the amount of effort you are putting into your boat it’s to be completed to a high standard. Keep up the good work, the effort will pay off.

  • Nice goin, its warmer in yoiur necka da woods than it is here at the time of watching. 22:02 27/07/2924. 5c. Enjoy it while ya got it m8! Looks like a nice place thatched roof an all. Preston seems nice, I'll still be here when you get back. Stay vertical Eh!

  • Are you going to sail the boat when it’s finished? How many hours have you put into it so far?

  • The ten foot rule has one inherent problem, you can't sail the boat from 10 ft I prefer the its good enough for me rule

  • 10 Foot rule, works for me and my GP14 Dingy 👍

  • There is something weirdly relaxing about watching a guy sanding a boat.

  • It is not until you have a job like this to do that you realise what a luxury a covered work area is. I shudder when I remember all the cars and motorbikes I fixed in my back yard with no cover to protect me from the elements.

  • Another saying is ‘a blind man would be please to see that’ 😂 keep going, great job 👍
