Llama 3.1 is ACTUALLY really good! (and open source)

Meta just released their latest “open source” AI model, Llama 3.1. Let’s see if it’s better than ChatGPT-4o and Claude 3.5 Shannon. But what’s crazy is that Mark Zuckerberg has been the open source AI advocate and is on a huge redemption arc. Clearly due to the increase in ability of ZuckOS thanks to Llama 3.1. And if Zuck’s change isn’t a testament to just how good Llama AI models are, then I don’t know what is.

  • Someone should make an artifact feature with llama

  • Facebook is doing with Llama what Google did with Android. Just like Android's open source model "look but don't touch"

  • Many of us can think highly or poorly of Zuckerberg, but he invested a lot of time and money into a resource, only to give it away for free, and that is not the first time he has done it. Can we say the same about many other well-known billionaires out there?

  • What has Meta injected into Llama3.1? Maybe the ability for them to detect AI written content? (Through some sort of undetectable pattern in large blocks of text output?) Maybe they have hidden some sort of challenge response to identify that Llama3.1 is the model being used? (To detect license infringement?)

  • Facebook would never take away the free access to llama's weight if it becomes the industry standard, just like it would never require a Facebook account to use an Oculus VR headset; Wait you need a Facebook account to use an Oculus VR headset? What's next is Meta gonna require you run CloudStrike to access the llama weights?

  • Mark Zuckerberg is kinda doing it for me. He just needs to learn to take care of those locks

  • Hey hey!! I moved out of her basement this morning, alright! I know live in the guest bedroom… sometimes.

  • can you create a video or share some resources on how to effectively study data structures and algorithms for interviews, please?
