Most people i have known on a personal basis who have memory lost eat sugar.
For instance, I have a good friend that has relatively good weight in his 80s. But he said that his memory is going and he eats a ton of sugar a week, such as in chocolate bars and ice cream. But he has good blood work. Which he had done about a year ago. So I am under the impression that sugar does affect the brain.
My neighbor who is now in a home because she is unable to look after herself.Because of her dementia always craved sweets.Always ate chocolate bars and candies everyday.
And another neighbor of mine who is in her Late seventies is a diabetic and her memory is really going down hill. She buys a lot of candies and cookies even though she knows she's a diabetic.
When you have guests, let them speak. Your longggggg monologues are getting old
Why does he even invite someone when he takes over the whole conversation?
You do have any doctor referals in Maryland/Pennsylvania
Amazing. You helped an 80 year old woman back from dementia and then 6 years later go on a major hike!
I agree unsubscribed .
Dr. Hyman, I enjoy your videos; however, you constantly interrupted your guest mid-sentence. Isn't the idea of having a guest speaker to learn from them?
Like you say food is medicine ! Dementia for the most part is due to the modern diet and poisonous prossessed foods!
I love you, Dr. Hyman but when do you ever stop with your old stories and let who your interviewing talk that’s who we’re trying to listen to we’ve heard your stories over and over again
Disappointed that you didn’t let her talk very much.
There is a return on investment for the research. It’s the sale of the suboptimal drugs. If the problem got solved there would be less of a “return” on investment.
I had a frontal lobe injury when I was a child back then they had swings with metal seats and I fell out and it came back and hit me in the head real hard. My mother said my frontal bone structure got very soft could injury to the frontal lobe cause dementia when you get older.

Please. Get to the point. I don't have time to listen to an hour of empty chatter.
It's too bad nursing homes have NO IDEA, or don't care for the sake of profit, what sugar, soy, and other crappy foods do our minds and our bodies. Even when I give a list of do's and don'ts to the nursing home Nutritionist, where my loved one now lives, they ignore it and keep feeding over processed, sugar, starches and nutritionally useless food, as we all watch them disappear into the void. Horribly sad. Should be punishable by law. I'm addicted to your channel Dr Hyman
Functional/Naturopathic medicine has SAVED MY LIFE at least twice. And STILL, STILL insurance companies won't pay for what heals us, makes us healthy and happy, and helps us to live BETTER, longer lives. Sigh. Health is for those with wealth. A trip to the Functional doc for tests is minimum of $750. Not in my budget. The tests I've had w allopathic doktors are useless, the Rx and treatment have been useless or made me worse. Thanks so much for this FREE information!!
My mom started showing signs of dementia at the age of 95… she's almost 98 now and it has worsened but she still can call everyone on the phone..let me tell you. Her and my dad ate healthy for the most part and loved dancing and gardening etc. She was on hrt until the age of 83. Her vascular system is probably part of her dementia, they told me she has decreased blood flow to her legs but because of her age they just treat it was ith blood thinners..no surgery. I will also say my mom loves eggs . she's been eating 2 a day most of her life..i had to cut back giving her that much because it seems to give her diarrhea if she eats 2..she has no gallbladder and we all have ibsd
I like watching him when he has no guest. He is very knowledgeable. He should zip it! Let them talk!
This is Dr. Hyman. He is very enthusiastic about all this stuff. He chats with people. He's very interesting, and then shares it. He is who he is. I wouldn't like him to change. Jusr sayin
Thank you! I saved this and shared on Facebook. I'm sure no one will watch but theyll binge watch mindless tv shows.
Most people don't want to care for themselves, unfortunately.
I feel so hopeful!! Some things are so easy to change. More meat, no junk food. Tooth fillngs (not so easy due to cost)
Dr Hyman is goingon and on about the cases he has treated: please let the guest talk about the patients she has helped…. Yes you have alot of interesting casez but you need to let her dominate the conversation NOT you..
Great video 🎉❤
In case of degenerative dementia, planet Ayurveda provides momory support capsules and neuroplan syrup. Their medhya churna is also very effective.
I’m a 69-year old female and totally on board with making lifestyle changes with diet, exercise, sleep therapy…how do I find a doctor in south jersey or Philadelphia area who can work with me on testing? My sister is going downhill very quickly with a recent Alzheimer’s diagnosis. I’d like to get help for her as well…she lives in Michigan. I love the information and the dedication you put into getting this important information out to the masses…THANK YOU! Michele
Guess I won’t be watching this based on the comments. Seems like he really botched this interview. Too bad since the content is so relevant to so many people.
She did a good interview on David Perlmutter site. Recommend hearing more from her there.
Let your guest talk please!
Dr Heather Sandison is really great in this video. I will be researching her work its fascinating. Andre
Your content is IMPORTANT Dr Mark, the more I see of your work the more I am a big follower mate. Keep it up. Chama! Andre
I can’t believe that alone B shots would stagnate the stmptoms of Dimentia
I so agree. He is always interrupts his quests and pumps himself up 🙄
Dr Hyman can't shut up and interview, he has to talk himself all the time.
Are those foam toppers for beds toxic when they have aged?
