As a dev I can say working with flutter and dart is a bliss and enables normal humans to build non-broken software with ease. I can not say that about C and gtk…

For not using GTK, they sure do look like they're doing their best Adwaita impression.
Why did they choose Flutter for the installer? The UI looks quite nice, is it not easy to implement in GTK4?
In my brief experience using GTK4, it was pretty difficult to use (I tried using Go initially, then tried to use Rust). I was trying to stick to libadwaita couldn't figure out how to implement tabs and gave up. Maybe I am just bad at finding documentation.
GTK 4 jinxed it for me because of the absolutely horrendous font rendering for 1080p screens and below, Flutter is supported by Google which makes a lot of people skeptical about the project’s longevity and future, but hey at least we have a new player in the desktop space.
Installer is basically a copy from old one. Functionally new installer doesn't bring anything new to the table.
Why even write new installers anyway – ? seriously Calamares, Anaconda – they work well.
but ubuntu doesnt even have gnome 45 as i hve 23.10 install and i dont see any gnome 45 im still on 44.3 wtf
If i remember correctly Flutter only supports x86 and arm on linux, and no official arm compiled binaries. Ubuntu supports more arch, so does it mean flutter already migrated to other platforms? Flutter is modern, and develop experience is much better than Qt, but its feature is too weak on desktop platforms. Can't wait to see the day Flutter becomes as powerful as Qt and Gtk on desktop.
It will end up rewritten in Rust anyways
I like how the apps look in flutter much more than in gtk

New installer on 22.04 had the same problem for me, and install was failed.
What were the reasons why they decided to drop gtk?
