Accelerate Open-Source Community Development for Automotive Industry on R-Car Board – Gaku Inami & Yusuke Goda, Renesas Electronics
As the recent trend in automotive, software is massively accounting for the value of a car and also shaping the hardware specification. Such trend is called by SDV(=Software-Defined Vehicles) and the demand for Open-Source into SDV is increasing from standardization and usability point of view. Based on such trend, Renesas has contributed for the community so far, for example providing R-Car SoC(M2/H3/M3) Starter Kit and working together with AGL and other community. In this year, Renesas released “R-Car S4 Whitebox SDK” as Open-Source base software package and “R-Car S4 Starter Kit Board” for the community. In this session, I showcase how is synergy, how to accelerate, how to build automotive gateway solution with using both SDK and Starter Kit. If you begin something for automotive gateway, it would be helpful.
