Addition Information:

Hotmail Configuration-
ServerName: localhost Port: 110
Username: username@hotmail.com
SecuritySettings: Never / don’t check secure authentication

Hotmail SMTP settings-
ServerName: localhost Port: 25
Username: username@hotmail.com
TLS is available

Gmail Configuration-
ServerName: pop.gmail.com Port: 995
Username: username@gmail.com
SecuritySettings: SSL / don’t check secure authentication

Gmail SMTP settings-
ServerName: localhost Port: 25
Username: username@gmail.com
TLS is available

Most other email hosts will just be the same, just use the guideline

Server Type : POP
Incoming Server: localhost
UserName : username@domain
Port: 110

SMTP settings
Server Name: localhost
UserName : username@domain

  • newest thunderbird confugures everything by itself, all you need to do is tipe in your another email account. Good tutorial though.

  • How to set up multipe email addresses in outlook express

  • That might be a setting on the gmail server settings that you control on their site and not the email client itself, I'll have to look into hat latter though.
