  • How's the store any different from the windows store?

Also Libre Office is available for free on all platforms; windows, Linux and MacOs.

However most people would stick with ms office (which can easily be activated for free) rather than using some random alternative.

  • Arguing over Linux or Windows or Mac is like same as that of food taste

  • Windows always better, and libre office is also free on windows

  • If Windows is pre-installed then use it as you're buying it with the pc but if the pc cannot run windows anymore then one can switch to Linux. Linux will get better with passage of time. There is a proposal to remove x11 session from Gnome. Although Wayland lacks many features at the moment but hope it will be replace Windows if Microsoft ever plans to turn it to a subscription based os.

Linux is a kernel not an os. Hope if Microsoft turns it's back on us some day making Windows a subscription basis os, someone will take the pain to make an complete os out of it which will be friendly to all user base.

  • mujhe lagta tha because i was using pirated windows on my gaming pc that was the reason I was getting blue screen of dead, but bc even after buying mehenga windows laptop with geniune windows 10 os . this shit still crashes just like my pc back in 2012 . abhi toh bas pdf, video conference and Microsoft store app use karta hu, dimag kharab ho gaya Microsoft got billions and these idiots still can't make a proper OS. acha hua windows never succeed in phones. atleast phones toh bach gaye ☠️☠️

  • If you have a high-end PC then windows is best for you otherwise you can switch back for Linux

  • There is no app which is available only in Linux. Every app is available in Windows + more. So, why choose Linux?

  • Linux is Good but not necessarily Ubuntu. You really Using Chrome ? 🙁

  • What we commonly refer to as "Linux" should more accurately be called "GNU/Linux" or "GNU + Linux." This naming convention was suggested by Richard Stallman, the founder of the GNU (GNU's Not Unix) project. The reason for this request is to give credit to the fact that the operating system we use today is a combination of two major projects: the Linux kernel and the GNU software system developed by the GNU project.

The GNU project, initiated by Stallman in 1983, worked to create a complete and free operating system based on the principles of free and open-source software. This project provided many essential software components needed for an operating system, such as compilers, libraries, shells, text editors, and more.

The Linux kernel, developed by Linus Torvalds in 1991, is a vital part of the operating system but alone does not constitute a complete operating system. It's just one of the components that, when combined with GNU software, form what we commonly call "Linux."

If, however, we were to call it just "Linux," then we should do the same with our Android phones, as Android also uses the Linux kernel. However, it's important to note that the complete operating system your phone or computer relies on is composed of much more than just the Linux kernel. The work of Richard Stallman's team and the GNU project was crucial in creating a full-fledged operating system.
