All Ubuntu Startup & Shutdown Sounds
These are all the Startup and Shutdown sounds from all versions of Ubuntu. In newer versions of Ubuntu, the startup sound is disabled by default, but the sound files themselves are still included and the startup sound can be manually activated.. This also counts for Ubuntu 18.10 up to the latest version.
This video was inspired from a video by the YouTube channel “Vistaven”, but the uploader unlisted the video, so I decided to redo it.

There was no 4.04 version of Ubuntu. The first version of Ubuntu was 4.10 (Warty Warthog).
Yo the scrapped 12.10 sounds are actually cool
I think ubuntu should give users all the options of boot or system chimes, and preset all these based on version. So user can choose the one they like. Honestly i like the 9.10 boot chime the most, really feel ubuntu is ubuntu.

i think, for those 12.10 sounds, sound 2 can be the shutdown for sound 1, and sound 4 for sound 3
4.04 and 6.10 beta are the best
I think Ubuntu 6.10 Beta has some beautiful sounds. I also like the final release sounds.
