AlmaLinux 8.3
Today I am looking at the 2nd option for replacement of CentOS called AlmaLinux. AlmaLinux sits in about the same place in the development stream than CentOS occupied, and has the support from a commercial company (CloudLinux). They plan to offer support tiers later this month (May 2021). I look at the features of the distro, make some initial comparisons between AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux. This will not be an in depth analysis until I have moved my applications over to each of them to determine the effort involved in replacing my CentOS machines.
