Anti-Patterns with Apache Cassandra – Praveen Kuruvadi & Nikolai Kolesnikov, Amazon Web Services

Cassandra has grown tremendously in the 14 years since its first release. As databases mature we learn more about the good and bad practices. In this talk we will discuss some wrong practices and anti patterns that we have learn from AWS customers and cover methods to avoid them. Examples of such anti-patterns include choosing a partition key on a low cardinality field, using a de-normalized schema, and using unbounded queries.
