ASWF Project Contribution Sustainability – Larry Gritz, Sony Pictures Imageworks & John Mertic, The Linux Foundation
We recently constructed the project contribution matrix, where ASWF member company representatives reported which projects were critical to their business and to which projects they were dedicating engineering resources, and the ASWF project leaders reported what resources they were getting and estimated shortfalls versus the ability to achieve their roadmap goals. Results show areas of significant concern — some of the projects that member companies universally say are critical often have few dedicated resources going to those very projects, and are far short of what they need to execute their roadmaps.
