  • Adrian Cantrill AWS course has just about everything you need to understand networking outside of the cloud.

Talks like this make me realise the most important thing is action – to start with anything, whatever, you'll realise what you need as you go

  • Very relatable, I started with AWS CCP and most of the networking stuff was hard to understand. Now that I've gone through CCNA material things make sense.

  • Neil Anderson’s CNAA Udemy course was my main resource when preparing for the exam. He also has a multicast and bgp masterclass to bridge into CCNP, in addition to a comprehensive NetApp course. Neil offers a wealth of networking knowledge

  • As for me, I do not think you need to really understand deeply. You just need to know the concept.

I never had experience on actual networking or on-premise or virtualization and I came from a software development background. But I was able to become really good at AWS where I can create stable and efficient infrastructure using IAC.

IT in general, you need to know the field that suits you. You can stick to one and become an expert or you can have a set of skillset

If you are the latter, choose the correct combination of knowledge and create a formidable.weapon. Same concept in video games where you combine elements then create a new powerful magic attack. E.g. fire + earthquake = lava. Become adoptive instead being labelled as jack of all trades master of none.

Cloud in a software development sense can be labelled as a framework. While the network and on-premise are vanilla code.

With a framework, there are encapsulated libraries within that makes your life easier to meet requirements. Comparable on the cloud where you just need a few clicks to meet the infrastructure requirements.

I do not disagree with Neil on his suggestion to take CCNA first but there are other methods to learn network. Easier ones and sufficient enough to become effective on the networking part of AWS. For me, my foundation is Docker where the concept of network is just communication between containers 😊

  • Keep uploading the content like these. We are loving it. Keep it up sir

  • Studying for ccna rn with Neil’s course. After passing Net+ and Sec+ I found a love for networking. It has made my projects much easier to complete. Also got accepted to a system administrator course that has a track for Linux, Cisco cyber ops and CEH so I’ll see where this takes me. Great video guys !!

  • LFCS >> CCNA >>> AWS , this is the golden rule that I would apply if I was going to do it again

  • I’m a CCNA, currently studying AWS CCP and I’m able to breeze through a lot of topic.

  • I was listening to the video without watching it and I thought the voice of the guest rings a bell.
Then I checked the video and saw it was one of the instructor of both of my CCNA courses on Udemy along with David Bombal.
Now I know I chose top notch instructors on Udemy and watch top notch channels on YouTube like this one 😁

  • Sir styx , this your video upgrade is mad…. Remember the first interview were the video and voice was a mess…
Congrats on reaching this mile stone

  • Good to hear this insight from you, I’m a traditional network engr with network security exp, thinking about moving to like Cybersecurity or AWS. Whats your take on this matter?… im about to take Cissp but suddenly i hold my horse considering the AWS, my plan is to full time remotely instead of being attached to location as im tired of working abroad.

  • MCSE->CCNA->AWS seems like a great progression….maybe ill go do MCSE after my CCNA…… such great info on this channel!!

  • I went through one ccna course just to see what i will have to know. I think im going to get my network+ quick while i practice the hands on components of the ccna.

I work at Amazon moving packages but i need to find a non physical job asap. If i can somehow tolerate being a warehouse worker after getting the network+, then i will focus on the aws certs so i can have an easier time getting a cloud role at Amazon since im already an employee there (hanging on by the skin of my teeth and only surviving because of the daily pay job perk 😅🥵)

  • After taking CCNA, learning VPCs in AWS was a breeze but also a lot of other content to swallow such as kinesis shards and databases etc.. core foundation is still best before proceeding to it. Have skillset of linux commands, bit of python. AWS is just a piece of the puzzle. Git, Terraform, CI/CD lots more to learn afterwards.

  • I can't wait to tell you guys when I've passed the ccna. At library now doing another 4 hr study session. Hope to sit sometime next month for exam.

  • I agree with you with CCNA I was able to understand VPC and much more.

  • You need the basic networking no matter what. Before moving to cloud structure.

  • Started my IT journey at the beginning of the year these were the top 2 Certs i battled over. After months of jumping back and forth i paused and went for Comptia Sec+ lmao, which i registered to test for by this month. After i pass its back to debating between the 2 again. My gut tells me CCNA because i think the AWS SA would be pretty much cake after that monster but all i hear is cloud this cloud that and feel like id be delaying getting the more important cert. The market is so tough and feels like u need at least 3 certs to even have a chance if you have no experience
