Hello. Greetings from the future. We are indeed doomed
is this effect possible on Microsoft windows even in the future? in 3D?
I miss Beryl…much better than Compiz at the time too.
How do you make the windows back to back?
Plus you can change the desktop to suit yourself, if you don't like these features you can disable them or replace them.
@kingmedabe This is true, but there is currently no good sequencer in Linux. At least not with the features I use every day in Cubase. As a professional composer I really don't have a choice but to use a Windows7 or a Mac machine.
@ChuckTheGreatNorris There isn't support for it from most developers, it may have it's own things to do those things but usually 3rd party software is better.
Looks good, but still not as good as windows 7, purely because of the fact that there isn't many games or programs that will run on the os…

@dragonworld029 Linux can be installed on anything
Do a Beryl roll!
Download link please?
is UBUNTU can installed in pentium 4
the only thing i dont like about ubuntu is that its not compatible with many games at all.
@dragonworld029 this is for Ubuntu, a different OS, you can get it for free.
is this allowed in xp….can i used this with xp?
@Rajtis U better be trolling..
Ubuntu is free. I don't know if you'll get older versions of it so easily though.
pleae where i can buy O. System ubuntu 7.04?? please 🙁
one of my favorite videos of all time 🙂
@nwiley619
i hope to see more games too, but many games are working better now, check the ubuntugamer blog , they got a nice amount of featured games
If only there was an ability to play games on ubuntu! then It would rock!
@pascbjumper2 thanks for answering;i will thinking about this.
@pascbjumper2 ok,Do you thing win7 is better than linux? I read good things too about it;
@jahid231 the safe and easy way to do it is just to download virtualbox or anyother virtual machine….and then install linux on to that. that way u can open it up from w/e host operating system u have. good thing about the vm's is that u can set it so u dont give it a specific amount of hard drive either. u could set it so that it expands by usage. so if ur full then u want to save more things it wil expand for u to fit it.
@jahid231
Use WUBI (Google it and you will understand)
I do love ubuntu and it's eye candy that compiz brings but i find that many of it's functions are not practical. For example, I find that scaling and expo is more useful than beryl. Beryl seems to be just for aesthetic reasons.
What are the specs of your system?
Installing now thru Wubi, can't install on the partition i have created myself 🙁
Nice! Going to install it now!
i use Ubuntu 10.04 and it IS REALLY THE BEST OS i have ever used….
Use it too!
all you have to do is use a program like wubi that will make a duel boot partition so you can try it for yourself and make your own first hand assumption
I think thats going to be the long term problem with third party os's – device support – that what keeps me from even trying to set up something like this – no way to know whats gonna work and what wont. All video cards? Sound cards? Webcams? Printer drivers? While the interface is er um wavy and flashy – i dont see how this increases usability at all – win 7 is clean and fast (not like xp or vista) and my devices work. Is Ubuntu going to work? that question keeps me from even trying.
Fuck the rest linus is the best 🙂 respect to all fans of other os s 🙂
You were saying that xp mce does not allow to install anything but xp versions.
no.
that is a fact!!!
although it is recommended that linux not be used for games IT CAN be used for them if you have the right specs 🙂
Wow, i dont know how that is possible tho, My Vista FPS is much higher than ubuntu, but then, who can blame then when the game must run througt Wine…
I consider it like this, Vista = Games
ubuntu(linux) = everything else
i play css on my ubuntu and i get 120-135 fps on my xp i get 45-68 with same specs on both pcs.
bullshit. compiz fusion is now fused with compiz to create 1 compiz fusion.
to be fair, i did turn off the window manager and any unnecessary processes and reniced counterstrike
i did the same in windows (to the extent that i could) but it still doesn't run this well. maybe it's just the hardware that i have
🙁 eh counter strike with ubuntu 9.04 and wine was laggy on my pc 🙁 but i get 60 fps in winxp i have 120 fps
The beryl and compiz team have fused their code and are now one, named compiz fusion.
Beryl is a litte outdated
counterstrike runs faster in wine + ubuntu on my desktop than it did under windows. registry is waaaay better.
RIP
