I bought the Shmeemobile BMW 1 Series M Coupe last year, it was the cheapest in the country with 94,000 miles on the clock but fortunately not too much hiding under the skin. However, like with my Clio V6, we’re going to turn it into something mega and so far that has included a full inspection and service, installing a Droid UK infotainment system, upgrading to a Quaife ATB Differential at Birds and most recently painting the wheels to Neodyme and fitting Michelin PS4S tyres.
Ahead of filming, I’ve sent off my steering wheel to Royal Steering Wheels for a retrim in Alcantara and orange stitch to match the other interior trim, and also added a 12’o’clock marker in the same shade. Thankfully also, a visit to Evolve has resolved the AC issue it’s had in recent times too. However, that’s not the primary topic of the day.
The Apollo Series set from EBC Brakes represents a significant step up on the standard brakes of the 1M; with this specific kit available for the E82 as well as the E90/92/93 M3s. Also fitted with braided lines, the full setup gives a firmer and more responsive pedal feel without the onset of brake fade. With a choice of calliper colours, I’ve opted for Stealth Black behind the gold of the wheels, and a full set of Bluestuff NDX Performance Brake Pads all around. BMW brakes are pretty notourious for being cooked quickly, good upgrade that.

Jack made me one for my 1M a few years ago. I had a flat bottom performance style with orange stitching, orange leather stripe at 12 and also had the multi function trim around the buttons and airbag trimmed in the matching alcantara, totaly transformed the look and feel plus i have the trim around the start button painted VO tomatch my exterior.

Trouble with an Alcantara steering Wheel is when your hands get Sweaty it can Ruin the the Material.Should have gone for a leather upgrade.👍
It is good to mention that when you upgrade your brakes to more pistons per caliper, there will be more break fluid in each corner when you are on the brakes.
That can mean that you require a bigger master cylinder.
There are plenty of stories of people finding themselves out of brakes, especially when breaking really hard (because you need to stop in a hurry) due to the master cylinder not having enough capacity to fill all the pistons.
For a man with that money I'm suprprised ytou bought this junk instead of bmw m performance brakes or brembo or something. Tried multiple ebc brake pads, they all sucked.

With my initial impressions of the gold wheels, it’s kind of growing on me. I prefer the silver but I understand the choice and uniqueness on the road!
I put this kit on my fiesta st 330bhp and it’s just brilliant stopping power is unreal great kit ebc mine came with ebc fluid just to note, bedding these bad boys In takes ages if done properly!!!!! There no way you can do this in 1 drive cycle
Top tip, if you ever install new brake pads, rub the two pads together like a sand block 10-15 times and bang them together when done. Once you fit them to your car, the brake pads will work instantly and not have any glaze offering fade.
Those wheels need to go 🤮
