  • you should have gone with z440 mobo – almost same price, mem is a touch more but you get nvme boot and better cpu upgrade path – this was a good effort generally – going to 2.5 gbe is another minor upgrade that makes a difference

  • I wouls of gotten a better power supply. Buy a gold poweer supply. Ive had many bronze power supplies blow up. After my 4th bronze i upgraded all my 6 systems to gold power supplies and ive had 0 issues ! Also, a really nice quiet big tower cpu cooler is the way to go. Expensive but itll pay of. Trust me.

  • This video was worth liking just for the PC-Cleaning-Jutsu. But on a more serious note, it's nice to see people doing practical builds that a wider audience can make themselves. Great work.

  • It's sometimes asinine how much some people try charging for old PC cases, Saw some Dickhead on ebay trying to charge $1,000 for an Antec Nine Hundred all because it had an Nvidia Sticker on it. Or people try tacking on the word "Vintage" and try to charge sometimes over $200, and if they aren't trying to charge some dumb high price they ask for like $150 for shipping, sometimes its both. Like nah bruh, I'll give you bout tree fiddy.

  • which cloud are you using to store data 50tb? or as many you are keeping in cloud

  • No reason to make it sound like you cant run game servers or edit off of Unraid… Unraid does both just as well.

  • Geahhh PC cleaning Jutsu! FTW lol. Nice setup. Looking to do the same and came across this, I have an old lenovo Server. I just wish the case had at least one optical drive for my blue ray drive. Since I'm running plex and gaming servers as well. Nice budget build though

  • Follow-up upgrade video, pretty please? ❤

  • The PC cleaning part got me to sub immediately

  • How is the noise from this case when the HDDs are being accessed? Is the noise dampening worth it?

  • Hey man! I was wondering everything you bought and built could I do the exact same thing and use it for a home server for Jellyfin and transcode to my phone outside of my home network?

  • that's a lot of time wasted on cleaning dust. just put it through an ultrasonic

  • I too can build an ancient system that's this expensive.
I do appreciate the effort, but you really should've gone with the seagate exos drives.

  • Thumb's up for covering the 3rd pin with tape. Really useful information.

  • I am trying to upgrade my dual core 2 GB Ram 320gb hdd 15 years old 100$ relic pc😂

  • As of 10/21/23, Both internal and external 14tb drives are same price at $259.99

  • for these yall this case doesnt support ATX mobo, i tried 5 different ATX mobos and they doesnt fit

  • Whata the best way to actually power the drives? Seems like every video i find about these home build storage servers always skips over actually wiring them up and showing off splitters or whatever method they use to do it

  • Why did you have to buy the power adapter ? All PSU's have 24 break away 4 pins. ?

  • I love the work mat on your bench, where can I find something like it?

  • I don't recommend you stacking one HD on top of another, you should leave one empty slot between them.
    They heat up.

  • how do you back tens of TBs into the cloud if your last name is not Bezos ?

  • I Buy my Drives refurbished from Water panther!! they Give You A 2 year Warranty And You Can get A 14TB Drive For 130 US Dollars! i have 6 of these Drives now And Have Had No Real Problem!! They Are SERVER Grade drives With CMR Striping! They Are DAS Drives Meaning No Need To Screw Around Shucking Drive Cases!

  • For me I use a hack on the power for me. I clip a power connection on the sata power so it will force the drives to work i clip a wire based off sata to sata adaptors or moles to sata adaptors
