  • ##################
    ### EXPLANATION ###
    ##################

Although the network address of each destination is the same (192.168.0.0) and the 192.168.0.0/29 network is a subnet of the 192.168.0.0/24 network,
because each has a different prefix length (/24 and /29) they are considered different destinations. So, both routes will be added to the routing table.
AD and Metric are only used to select among routes to the same destination (ie. two routes to 192.168.0.0/24), not to select among routes to different destinations (192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.0.0/29).

  • It has been awhile for dynamic protocols. At first I thought Rip has the least administrative cost . then wait a minute why not both . I need still need work. Great course I recommend it to every one in my class .

  • Love these shorts Jeremy keep 'em coming 🙂

  • Both routes will be added to the routing table. However, when the router needs to send, it will select the route with the longest prefix length.

  • Both will be added as they have different prefix

  • Thank you so much Jeremy!!! I'm taking my CCNA next month and things like this as well as your channel have been a blessing.

  • jeremy, how about the longest prefix length will add on routing table.

  • Just wanted to say thank you for helping me pass my exam first try with no IT background, you're the main reason I had the knowledge to do so. Thank you for your great lectures, labs, and flashcards!
