  • While it's commonly thought that IP addresses are always personal data under GDPR, this isn't necessarily true in all cases. Consider anonymization: if an IP address is sufficiently altered so it no longer points directly to an individual, much like a jigsaw puzzle missing crucial pieces, it loses its status as personal data. Furthermore, the dynamic nature of many IP addresses complicates their association with a specific individual. These addresses frequently change, akin to a constantly reshuffling deck of cards, making stable identification challenging. However I'll welcome anyone who wants to change my mind!:)
