Abstract: Today’s world is cloud-based, and transforming your business through cost transparency, control, forecasting and optimization is a challenge. FinOps optimization capabilities are broadly divided into rate-based optimization and resource-based optimization. Understanding the billing components and processes associated with optimization opportunities is critical when planning to reduce cloud costs. Open source tools play an important role in analyzing cloud costs and implementing guardrails and policies.
