i do not know who did you talk with, M1 M2 macbooks are quite fixable. We swap SSDs, charging controllers, power ICs, everything what might fail might be replaced. there are few complications like wifi-cpu bonding but it is rather exception. i live and run my repairshop in a city which is more expensive than London, and i have no issue spending whole day to find one problem which moves me further.
doing fast-food likerepairs is not the only way to fix devices.
