Greetings, survivors! Update 1.24 releases today, our first stable update of 2024, and we’re excited to share the details with you.
In the spirit of continuity from previous years, we’ve dubbed this update the “clean sweep,” focusing on a host of QOL improvements and the resolution of various issues still on our radar. While the update may seem modest, it provides a robust foundation for the upcoming updates throughout the year.
Here is a brief list of notable improvements we’re particularly fond of:
– Introduction of the Vikhr rifle, equipped with a 30-round 9x39mm magazine, to the 9x39mm rifle family.
– An assortment of ballistic camouflage helmets to increase options for tactical gears.
– Improved weapon handling when interacting with obstacles.
– Increased damage output of blunt melee weapons against infected and animals.
– Optimized gun particle effects for better client performance.
– Refined collision geometry of foliage that improves performance and overall fluidity of movement (both player and vehicle).
– Rebalanced recoil patterns for automatic rifles.
– Additional sounds and animations for more immersion
– Official release of the Linux version for the DayZ server slated for the stable branch.

The only thing that is worse than your "updates" are your trailers on yt. Its incredible how you guys can sell this "game" on console -it should be illegal. Console is hardcore buggy and you play even on ps5 on 30FPS with hard lag spikes XD

There are fake official servers in the official server list such as 87.8FM and DE1421, which are capable of installing malware on your pc. They have been there for weeks now, how come you devs do nothing? You have been neglecting the game for years now, several game ruining bugs, cheaters and now this? Bugfixing and stability as well as safety from malware should be your priorities, not such dogshit updates the game never needed. We want a statement

We need dayz on unreal engine 5. This would bring the game to modern standards and could fix a lot of the performance issues, while adding so many missing mechanics and featurs the game is lacking. The bones are there, but the game just needs the right engine to allow its potential to flourish.
