1. What is the best Linux distribution among all distributions, in general, according to your use and opinion??
2. What is the most protected and secure distribution??
Ubuntu 23.10 with Xanmod v4 Edge kernel (with both snaps & flatpaks installed) 😀
All I see here in the comments are a bunch of tribal BS without any solid rationale behind the opinions.
I prefer Debian 12, i have a relatively newer machine and it detected everything.. dosent have the newest stuff but that is definition of stable. Never seen any error, brakeage, nothing..it just works smoothly..fantastic OS
Dunno why but I prefer Linux Mint Debian edition 😀
Debian is easy to use and install but good luck to get it on latest and greatest hardware. They really need to cut that release cykle to 1 year and start to include newer packages. They are on neither LTS or rolling modell. Thats probably why they will always be just base of other (better) distros.
Mint seems like best one for home and Ubuntu for servers and business. I personaly never liked debian-based distros or Debian it self. Would go for Arch or Arch-based and Fedora if you want something fresh and easy to use. Fedora and Ubuntu are probably smart to learn and use since companies behind them are leaders in Server-space.
One word, fedora
Problem solved
Debian obviously.
Hello, thank you for the video. I have some questions to the community: in current versions: Ubuntu 22.04 and Debian 12, ubuntu is better in terms of hardware detection, or is the same? I''ve been long time using MX Linux, but now i'm trying Kubuntu, is consuming about 700mb ram while Debian KDE almost 900. At the moment is working pretty well, in terms of bugs, Ubuntu has bugs usually in any desktop environment? In terms of software, Ubuntu has any important advantadge compared to debian?
Thank you
Debian also has an easy "Calamares" installer in the live environment
So far I prefer Ubuntu based distros over Ubuntu or the official flavors. Mainly because Flathub is enabled. I did use a Debian based distro MX Linux and liked it too. I think I could use either. To me the desktop makes a bigger difference than what is underneath (assuming my hardware is detected).
LMDE.
I've been using Debian 11 and now 12 on 2 PCs and a laptop for a few years. I by no means consider myself to be an expert and find that the traditional Debian installer is as easy to use as the Ubuntu installer. Software packages for the most part are quite recent and Debian is solid. I've never had a problem with Bullseye or Bookworm. The frequency of updates is minimal and I can most always find an application that I need. Good distro for me.
Debian is solid.
Ubuntu without Pro subscription lacks some security updates.
Debian has recent software with Flatpaks and Snap, and does have commercial support, not sure why you share otherwise.
Ubuntu – Shoves snaps, too many updates, random freezes and hangs, slow on decent hardware. These reasons made our organization to pilot Debian with ~50 users and now we are migrating everyone to Debian! People did not notice much of a difference, when they use their apps, instead liked the stability, low frequency of updates and snappier response from the "new" OS. 😀
Debian easily in my opinion. A really open source without surprises, for a final normal user the performance is similar but you get not impositions how snaps. Using flatpak you have last software in Debian and it is solid, reliable and the actualizations are not nonsense.
debian 12 is a good choice now, running debian 12 in my two pc and Ubuntu in 1 pc. Never encounter any bugs or system crash in my debian machines while Ubuntu one feels so buggy all the day, and crashes frequently,
