Difference between Unix and Linux

Unix and Linux, two stalwarts in the domain of operating systems, have long been subjects of comparison and contrast. This video delves deep into their origins, licensing models, kernel architectures, development paradigms, command-line environments, filesystem structures, system initialization, and user interfaces to unravel the intricate tapestry that distinguishes Unix and Linux.

  • and at the very beginning of project linux, the operating system was considered to be branded as "phreax" (as on freaks) instead of linux, based on the name of the principal developer.

  • Well done. It's a bit to robotical if you know what I mean.

Proper unix system would be Solaris (best OS ever made) and FreeBSD.
There is no reason why you couldn't run any X11 based desktop on unix-like maybe just if there are dependency issues with systemd (btw systemd is heavily inspired by Solaris's SMF which was released 2005). Another interesting unix-like system to explore is BeOS.

  • Why are you not using your voice? Your using AI. I can tell. Because of when the AI says Linux. It's not Lienx, it's Linux. That's all.

  • I predominantly use Linux bu I do on occasion use BSD just to have a knowledge of the differences between the two systems.
