DNS/Mail Server Part1 – How to configure a DNS server?
Domain Name Servers or DNS could be defined as the Internet’s reference book. They keep a directory of a list of domain names and translate them to IP (Internet Protocol) addresses.
USED FILES :
/etc/named.conf
/etc/named.conf.local
/etc/named/zones/db.oye.bibin.com
/etc/named/zones/db.139.59
INSTALLED PACKAGES :
yum install BIND BIND-UTILS

This is necessary because computers or any other similar device access websites based on the IP addresses.
Information about all the domain name servers across the Internet are accumulated together at the Central Registry. The Host companies and Internet Service Providers (ISP, eg: Idea, Reliance, BSNL, etc.) interact with the Central Registry on a regular basis to get an updated DNS information.
