I FINALLY DID IT! I FINALLY PREPARED FOR THE HORDE PROPERLY!
"I can climb anywhere i want"… so can the zombies
Josh looking mighty handsome in the beginning crazy hair and all 😍
Also, seriously creeping closer and closer to that ever coveted baton play through. Can't wait. You got a shout out by @Glock9 about batons on his last video.
@12:39 I fucking lost it on the blur.😂
K'day Zhawoodle.
* chuckles in spreadable fire * I'm in danger!
So I'm back to Doing EVERYTHING to maximize trading. Got my Magnum pistol, My cheesecake, My Sugar Butts, Grandpa's Awesome sauce, and a Cigar hangin out my mouth! Trading INTENSIFIES!
Well, they are really making progress. They have made the game almost impossible. Another update or two and nobody will want to play.
What is that whistling sound that pops up quite regularly? It is really annoying.
If meat is still a problem, try chucking a point into animal tracker 😉
It only took 20 Alphas but Josh is now a responsible 7DTD player who builds a horde base ahead of time… Snif… So proud. 🥹
So excited for these vids , been waiting for the console for so long
Less than 6k subs until stun baton only!! Let’s get it!
"I need to build a Horde Base" immediately goes raiding. Also with the challenges you can track them so they will show up like the "starter quests" Handy for finding wild tree stumps for the Honey challenge, and they have to be wild stumps POI stumps don't count. Also, harvest goo piles with the bone knife you have a quest for that too. Edit: see you the rotten flesh one with that's what happens when I post at the beginning of the episode.
I love how Josh’s building skills are really coming out for this 1.0 update. Can’t wait for the baton series 🎉😅

Hey! On which map do you play? Your trader is so close to the city. I wanna be close also )
JAWOODLE!!! Please test to see if fire pits does damage to zombies im curious. Last i remember it was nerfed i think but hey maby it would work in the killing corridor where they land on the fire pits and burn???
To be fair about the hot/cold system being janky: the update coming in Q4 2024 is supposed to include a revamped weather system. I imagine hot/cold will come into play again at that time.
Did I not pay close enough attention or did Jawoodle have no coins in his inventory when he bought from the dealer? 🤔
Hey Josh! I figured out the ladder-jumping issue
-> it's been changed so that if you're still touching the space bar when you touch the ladder, it just auto-drops you from the ladder.
Don't really notice it on non-jump ladders, cuz you just go right up. But if you have to jump to a 2-high ladder, you gotta release the space bar before you contact the 'ladder space'.
you do jump higher if you hold down the space bar though. So it requires a smidgeon of timing to catch the ladder.
21:41 anything is a “toy” if you’re brave enough….
I am living in this POI as well! It's so perfect!
hey @JaWoodle, i know you test a lot of things to troll zombies in this game. Did you ever try how zombies behave in a pit or a room (1 or 2 cubes deep) where all around you put stairs but theese are not vertically placed, as they shoul, but are orizontally rotated? do zombies get stuck moving around the border and are they unable to go up and leave the trap?
Lookit you being ready! Thanks Woodle, cheers cobber.
Yeah I'm pretty sure they nerfed the wandering horde bag drop rate. I think it's still higher than normal as I get a bag out of the hordes more often than not but I'm only getting A BAG, not a couple bags. Makes it worth killing them if you're passing by but I won't bother chasing them down to kill them anymore or even changing course by much.
I just allocate a slot in my inventory for wood, and I always have thousands. I like to pick up chairs and scrap them in the POIs.
Josh, they INTENTIONALLY nerfed the trading, because too many players just turned into errand boys for traders, and didn't bother mining, harvesting, or crafting. And i am happy they nerfed trading so hard.
Are you planning to return to Palworld anytime soon? The Sakurajima update just came out, and one of the new armor sets is BLACK AND PURPLE. It's clearly designed just for you.
So, for the challenges that require specific things (such as harvest things with a bone knife) you said it yourself, its a tutorial.
its trying to get you to interact with the system while learning how to be more efficient. You should be harvesting for material stockpile from the beginning, those challenges teaches that you can craft the tools from early on and makes you want to do so. If it was "any knife" as you said this would do nothing for actually teaching people. It would turn into just looting and relying on rng to give you your supplies.
Also for things like drinking from a lake, thats a thing alot of people still think you can do. This teaches them that is not the case. Murky Water = Bad taught in 1 challenge. Especially when there are multiple challenges that play off each other, like another telling you to use meds after getting a disease from said water.
A tutorial is 1, meant to actually teach things. 2, more than just free xp. 3, something designed with newer players in mind at the forefront, in other words not someone with a whole channel around the game.
There are things that can be improved, but your rambling over challenges made to be done a day 1-2 that you still havent done by day 6 is not it man.
Dang that fast and furious joke made me laugh so loud i startled my dog. 😂
Is it just me or does his character look like Freddie Mercury. lol
Redeeming quest xp with a learning elixir and/or the nerdy "helmet" does work. I also have the xp mod so i get like 2.5 times the xp from them.
If after the 7 day horde, there are repairs, and/or improvements made to the base before day 14, I'm going to demand proof that Woodle is actually playing 😂😂
I just realized the FP are forcing you to put points into pack mule unless you constantly want to be cucumbered
I've been playing since it came out and I'm just… disappointed? I dunno, it feels hollow. A lot of the changes in the last couple of updates have just taken things away. Half of the harvestables in POIs like cement, etc, are gutted so it's better to just craft. No cans/jars was a bad change imo, the dew collector is ok, but it just makes a magic box you get water from after you set it up, which means you're real restricted early on then the challenge/maintenance/gameplay loop is just… gone. New zombies feel rough, they're tanky AF too early in the game which doesn't make it more of a challenge, it just makes it more of a chore. They removed the temperature system, most likely because they couldn't figure out how to make it work with the new armor system… then we've got all the stuff that has been an issue for literal years and just ignored. Water being borderline amateur hour, swimming feels terrible. The new models are decent but the animations are still janky af for a 2024 game. Skill trees are so poorly balanced, every build is Str+something else with little dips into different trees, even in multiplayer, the stuff in the strength tree is so universally useful that it feels bad to not take it. Universal mechanics like building, harvesting, mining, etc, shouldn't be locked into a tree with specific weapon types.
Add all that to the adjustments to progression and it feels like they just made it all take longer and reduced your avenues for progression. There is no branching, no options anymore. You grind mats, you farm books, you craft. Even trader quests border on pointless other than taking more crafting book bundles because you need 210397450 books to get anywhere near the power curve you have to maintain to survive. The game felt better last year =
The guys at Neebs gaming were talking about you the other day you need to contact them about a collab in the full release
Traders do seem nerfed in this build i hope they add back a little value, or honestly…. it may just not be worth using them at all anymore… No trader challenge soon? back to the oldschool days of 7 days!
i use the wedge 60 tips for my anti zombie stack block cause some zombies like to crawl even if you have 3 block clearance but use a ramp block for anti stacking measures
You've got your combat knife and your food knife (at least until you've completed the challenge)
You'll wanta break down any armor you find that you aren't going to wear, i've found it can be hard to find a reliable supply of armor parts early on. (You can always make specific sets once you unlock them and get them to a …. decent tier.)
they didnt nerf the amount of money you get from resources like polymer, bras, and anything you get from dismantling cars. just use some hackers candy and in 15min you made like 5k coins
🤔 don't cones still hurt zombies if you let them walk over it
@josh for the harvesting iron pipes with a salvaging tool tutorial mission, the description of which specifically says "such as a wrench" it's looking for primitive axe.
For anyone that's used to living off the traders and their missions, that's still possible now but with the nerf, even maxing out barter and adventurer, you won't be nearly as comfortable as you're expecting.
TFP seem to be moving the game towards slower progression, where you have to earn every inch. Which continues to lend credence to my theory that they won't be happy until the only horde night strategy is to stand in a field and get mauled over and over.
It seems the vitamins or goldenrod tea allows you to dring lots of murky water – still loose HP though.
Ammo pile behinde the reinforst Chester in gears house
Josh just so you know I thought your hair looked really good in the beginning
I really don't like the changes to armor and traders in this update. This whole 1.0 update just feels like TFP saying you need to play the game exactly this one specific way and if you try anything else or if we see you having fun we'll just remove that option in the next update. Was anything at all actually added in this update that modders haven't already done better years ago?
