EASY FIX for PC Stuttering 2024 (GameBar Presence Writer) WORKING FOR WINDOWS 11

Thanks for watching! In this video, we talk about a potential fix for windows stuttering while playing games or running applications. Trust me when I say this works. Still working 2024 and also for Windows 11 (although steps may vary) !!

STEPS~~~~

Go to:
C:windowssystem32GameBarPresenceWriter.exe.
Right click on it and select Properties, Security Tab

-Click on the Advanced Button
-Click on ‘Change’ button for Owner “TrustedInstaller”
-Enter the Object Name: This is the name that you log into Win10.
-Click on “Check Name” to make sure it’s spelled correctly.
-Click OK button
-Click on Apply button
-Click on OK to popup screen

In order to find what name is used for your version of Win10 go to: Settings “gear icon”… Accounts…Your Info. Don’t sign into MS account via internet. This only works if you don’t “sign into windows via internet”. If you don’t you might not find a proper name that will work.

When you type your Account Name in the “Enter Object Name” box you want to click the “Check Name” button. So it will verify it is spelled correctly. Once completed hit OK then Apply.

You are back at the Properties Popup Screen
-Click on Advanced Button
-Click on Add Button
-Click on Select a Principal
-Click on space for Enter the Object Name: The name used to log into Win10
-Click on Check Name Button then click on the OK button once it is selected (if not check spelling).
-Click on box for Full Control then click on OK

Once you completed the above steps you click on the Apply button
-Click OK on popup screen
-Click OK again

you are now back at the Properties popup screen
You now should see your name added (you may need to scroll down to see it)

starts the steps to return GameBarPresenceWriter.exe back from you to TrustedInstaller
-Click on Advance Button
-Click on the word “Change” for Owner

Enter the Object Name type: NT ServiceTrustedInstaller
Then click on Check Names

You can now rename C:WindowsSystem32GameBarPresenceWriter.exe to GameBarPresenceWriter2.exe
– By right clicking on it and selecting “Rename”.
– Just add a number to it.
– Save it then reboot the PC.
– Make sure you are rebooting the PC and not going into hibernation mode.

  • You're not gonna believe this dude, but I had to contact Dell customer service today about my game stuttering, so the guy said "Please give me a moment I am checking a YouTube video on how to fix your stuttering". I asked him to send me the video he watched so that I could do this in the future. Dell Tech Support referred me to YOUR video dude! I just got my pc a month ago and everything works great except for random app freezes where if I’m playing a game or talking on discord everything just randomly stops for a few seconds and then goes back to normal.   • Hi there, do I need to delete all those game bars. Xbox live etc from App section in settings?

  • It didn’t work for me, unfortunately all my games are continuing to stutter just as badly despite my higher-end GPU. Either way, this was a really easy tutorial to follow and certainly didn’t hurt to try.

  • Sadly it didn’t work for me, I have windows 11 with a 4070 super, I’m not sure what’s happening and it’s frustrating since I can’t play games anytime soon with that bad micro stutter. Not sure if anyone has any ideas?

    Update! So after a ton of task managing, I noticed that every time my games micro stuttered, Windows Explorer CPU usage spiked. So I ended the task and my games run smooth now! However, it's obviously annoying to use windows without Windows Explorer! So, I fresh reinstalled my Windows 11, and it works now! Wanted to stop by and update in case anybody has similar issues. Thank you for replying to my issues all those weeks ago, it means a lot to me to start troubleshooting myself, now I can finally play games with smoother FPS! Thanks again!

  • I thought my pc was doing some sibili bongus and making my mouse lag but I remembered that I left it on for 3 days with no pauses that’s why my pc would lag when I opened google

  • hey bro, followed your guide, stuttering had disappeared for a week, now i just changed the power plan settings a bit,and the stuttering started all over again, i reverted the power plan settings back to default, but the stutter still seems to bother, any fix?? :((
