I have the EIOTclub 6 month 6 GB plan for $80. So does this camera only use data when it detects something? If not it seems like it could burn through 6GB in just a few hours.

  • Dave you did a great job endorsing these cameras so I bought 2 for my vacant lot. Before I installed them on the property I tried to get familiar with them around my house. I could not get either of the 2 to send a notification when someone triggered it. I waited all day and did not get a response from customer service. No reason to keep them if they don’t do the job. Any ideas. Thanks Ron

  • Is the solar panel suppose to be charging all the time when there's sunlight? Or does it only charge when battery is below a certain level. Ive has mine mounted for 4 or 5 days and I dont see the charge symbol.

  • Thanks for the review. You are dead on about the antenna(s). This is why I went with another brand. In my area all three services are weak. I replaced the screw-on antenna with an external DIRECTIONAL Yagi-type high-gain antenna. You can find one online for about 30-40 bucks that comes with the coax and tiny connector adaptor to fit most any camera. This was a game-changer. I had one bar most of the time, every once in a while 2. That was good as it got. With the new antenna, it runs a solid 4 bars out of five. Yes, it can be a pain to dial in the antenna but once you get it aimed properly, you are good to geaux (as we say in Louisiana) All you will need is some 3.5" PVC pipe. I did paint the pipe and antenna cover camo so it doesn't stand out that badly in the woods. I used large zip ties to attach it to a tree I had topped. I have not had to visit the site to work on any of the electronics going on 5 months now. Its alert notifications are great. I see the hogs feeding in the pen. I send one text message to my gate controller and Boom! the gate drops.

    What I dont like about the Reolink is battery life . At some spots during winter the sun is so low that the solar panel doesnt get sun but it wouldnt matter because when I put these camera outside when it gets below 0 during winter time the solar panel doesnt charge at all. …
    So being able to work on a lithium power pack is a great feature .
