Ellicom & Agnico Eagle Mines won a Silver Canadian Award in the eLearning category at CSTD
Program Description:
To meet the particular training needs of new employees in the Meadowbank northern division, AEM chose to distinguish itself from others in the field by looking to information technology to design and develop an e-learning program.
Ellicom was hired to create an e-learning program for new arrivals at the Meadowbank site. The project involved implementing an LMS and developing six e-learning capsules, allowing the 650 new workers from all across Canada hired each year to receive some training even before their arrival at the Meadowbank site. The project was divided into two phases. First, Ellicom developed and e-learning capsule called General Induction, which simulated a visit to the site. The next five capsules build on the first, presenting occupational health and safety (OHS) standards for various fields. Note that this submission will mainly focus on the General Induction capsule, which was central to the training program.
