Kudos to the spoon reference. My first thought when you brought up the spoon was the "so it'll hurt more" and then it clicked when you said the "not cut out his heart" that that's a Costner movie as well.
Gosh, this movie was a big deal when it came out. Posters all over Blockbuster when it hit home video, and I remember hearing the main theme & buffalo hunt tracks at the mall. Then it basically evaporated from memory.

I liked dances with wolves. It’s a classic
Interesting fact. The Pawnee were extremely hospitable and the Souix were the aggressors in almost all conflicts. They chose to flip that piece of history in this script because they filmed on Souix land.
Forgot one… The only interesting parts of this movie are the first and last 10 minutes.
In the 1st act we meet the natives, murdering & mule stilling. They plot to murder John Dunbar himself & still his horse, Even the kids try to still his horse when no ones looking…John Dunbar in the 2nd act says that "They are not the begger & thieves he was told they were."😂
I'm sorry. I love cinemasins, but any video with a betterhelp ad is getting a dislike from me.
