Hello sir, I want 2 log in, one for my staff purpose and one for my personal use. The requirement is my staff should not see my personal data thru their log in, so I can secure my data under my log in.
Great explanation, thanks. May I ask what ‘Deny’ is? Isn’t it the same as unchecking ‘Allow’?
thank you so much up up more more more c
Hi, how to give permission based on security identifier (SID)?, thank you so much
i have like 1k folders like this how can i do this now :") help me
If we configured modify permission on sub folder and write permission on parent folder then what is a resultant permission applied on sub folder ? (inheritance is enabled)
A god among men I fought with my computer trying to figure out why my C:/Disk was full drive me freaking crazy then I found your video took a 3 mins to fix it
The popularity of this video isn't by accident. First, good audio quality and clean vocal. 2nd, you knew your stuff or planned it out, & 3. You had it perfectly timed and edited to 11:11 ❤. I needed this video to prevent the people in my house from breaching in my pc/phone through all sorts of methods. I've tried a lot, but there's too many settings I can't change them all before they stalk and breach in.
Hi I just don't get it my computer refuses me to copy the folder to my hard drive… I want. to empty it because I have the zero bytes issues. I want to remove everything from my computer and clean it up from start, please help me
Thank you so much <3
There is any error while giving permission
How set permission for external hard drive? I want full access and other family members read only…
What great video. Thank you
hello thank you so much of it, what is the Héritage Lock or unlock ?
Maintaining permissions by directly adding users is tedious and untenable, do yourself a favor and do not do this in a production environment.
I like to know can we share the folder with a specific user outside your pc with a different user in your local network
Thanks bro it helped alot specially when window is ass
Thank You So Much 🙏
thank you
Bro my computer does let me click the “add tab “ it’s like invisible I’m not allowed to click it
how to disable outlook security certificate?
hi brian i have many users in the user permissions list whats the defrance between them and how to delete unwanted users
Thank you.
hi britec tell me this is now on one machine right? now how do I give certain users access to certain folders over the same network from their computers as I do not like the everyone object plus I don't like to utilize another pc to install freenas….so if I have 3 users on the same network how do I make sure they have access to their own folders and not trying to fish what's not meant for their eyes….if you can help with that or have a link that'll help?
Thank you very much.
Great video. Two questions.
(1) What's the difference between leaving a permission blank vs "Deny"?
(2) Does providing admin password to perform one operation e.g. write or execute in a folder, compromise the entire system or will an app requesting access be able to perform only that operation? Example, I have a malicious app that runs under UserX account. App wants to access folder Y, but UserX cannot access folder Y nor can it access folder Z. So I type in admin password when prompted to allow access to folderY for UserX. Will the malicious app be able to do malicious things only in folder Y or will it also be able to access folder Z?
I shouldn't have to comb the web for answers to questions about windows…. MS should have call in tech support. All the updates do is break stuff… I don't want them..Well, they did buy bethesda and that other one, activision? Maybe they spent all their billions and can't afford to offer USERS OF THEIR PRODUCT call in tech support. What a shit company haha!!! I think know why they don't have call in tech support. Because they know their OS sucks…
A single home user does NOT need this crap. I found this on the MS website… which IS exactly how I feel..Is there ANY way to turn OFF this permissions thingy?!?!
I am soooooooooooooooo tired of MY machine giving me "Access denied" or "You need permissions from <MYSELF>" errors!!!!!!!!!!!!
(And NO–I'm NOT going waste MORE time, monkeying around with user account, etc.!!!! Been there….done that! And STILL doesn't work!!!!)
Why do I need permissions to do ANYTHING–on MY machine?!?!?!?!?! If I'm willing and determined to (accidentally) delete an important system file on MY machine–why should windows get in my way?!?!?!
Hackers don't seem to have much difficulty placing hidden files on our machines–so, why shouldn't WE be able to move, copy or delete files from our OWN machines?!?
Since this permission thing, is obviously flawed–is there some way to turn off all of this permissions stuff, so that I can determine what files are to be moved, copied and/or deleted (on MY machine?)
Britec you are the best tech youtuber of ever
thank youuuuuuuuuuu
i got infected with the ransomware bpqd recently, any solution how to recover my files ??
Is it safe to do this on windows apps folder
Thanks
We don't want Sally to steal all your pounds in the bank LOL I call that giving users "global" permission since it's across accounts within the Windows platform
I see youtube pulled your latest video on installing win11
Hi Master, what happend with your video "How to install Windows 11 on unsupported computers" ??
I have a folder on my secondary hard drive. It says I can’t remove it I need permission. How I can I make it so I can delete it? it’s my folder,
It amazes me the amount of information that you fit into a video that is less than 12 minutes. NTFS permissions can get pretty complex and you did an excellent job of explaining the basics.
Thanks for a great video. I have 3 computers, two with Windows 10 home, and one with Windows 11 home. I can't access one of the W10 computers from the W11. I"ll see about following your clearly stated steps. I don't know what differences there are between the settings in both W10 computers to cause one to have access from W11 and not the other. I can access from the W 11 from both, I think, W10 computers. Any ideas on why I might night be able to access the one W10 from the W11 computer?

Got to be honest great channel always liked it been going quite a long time wanted to know are you actually a qualified engineer or just somebody that’s got the experience over the years
thanks brian always good info
What I struggle with is gaining full control of a folder where I've been denied access even though I'm the admin and I actually created the folder.
Thanks Brian, truly awesome, I've always struggled getting to grips with permissions and your video has explained the process with ease, cheers mate, keep up with your sterling work, I have learnt so much from your channel over the years and always appreciate video content and look forward to learning even more. If you get chance, could you possibly show how we can have network connection in safe mode because in Windows 10 we could but for some Microsoft reason we can't in Windows 11?
