Extremely fast Windows 7 startup on a 13 year old laptop!

This is another round of trying to get the fastest startup time on my Dell Latitude E6320 from 2011 running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 (build 7601), which is also from 2011! Thanks for taking some time to watch this video.

Here are the specs of the laptop:
Chassis: Magnesium and aluminium alloy construction
Processor/CPU: Intel Core i5-2520M vPro (2.5Ghz, turbo boost up to 3.10Ghz)
Chipset: Intel Sandy Bridge 32nm (2011)
Graphics (integrated): Intel HD Graphics 3000
SSD: Crucial MX500 250GB 6Gbps SATA
Network: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 Dual band (300Mbps, WiFi), Intel 82579LM Gigabit Ethernet
USB: 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB eSATA/2.0 combo
Speakers: 2x 0.5W IDT High Definition audio
Others: Optical drive, ExpressCard bay, Smart card bay, backlit keyboard. VGA, AUX, Mini HDMI, Kensington lock slot, removable battery, dock serial port

  • I've seen so many of these laptops at the computer store where I work

  • And meamwhile windows 10 takes a minute to boot up on an ssd (on my laptop) smh.

  • I couldn't imagine how the startup sound clashed with the logon sound 😂

  • Had a same E6320, need to upgrade a hard drive so it could transfer files and run faster

  • I have Dell Latitude 5280 touchscreen Windows 10 with M.2 SSD which is very slow can't even delete some unwanted files somehow

  • I have an e6420 with windows 10 and a kingston ssdnow, it's amazing what an old laptop can still do.

  • my pc opens faster i installed win7 (idk why it has vista boot screen on my pc it makes it boot faster).

  • And yet in that time my 13 year old laptop just gets to the login screen on Windows 11.

  • my thinkpad that i still use today due to me being poor asf boots windows 7 in around 10 seconds to home screen

  • Windows 7 was Microsoft's only good OS. When 8 became the new big thing, I moved to Linux and never looked back.

    I have one that's 12 now too, its an HP Probook 4430s with Windows 10, but she can take upwards of 45 minutes to start up, sign in, and become useable lol

    But still, that bootup speed you have there is absolutely amazing

  • When I replaced the 5400 rpm HDD with an SSD on my mom's old Toshiba laptop, it started skipping to the desktop even before the Windows logo would finish 😀.

    boots windows 11 faster than this video 💀

  • it looks a fresh installation… of course it would be fast… then after installing apps it will be way longer even on an M2 drive

  • mine wont even show up the booting process it just goes straight to the desktop

  • Not surprising that it's on a Dell Latitude. I also have a Dell Latitude that boots really fast.
