  • i'm running fedora for years now , what makes it distinguished is its support for new device drivers and being super stable

  • Is it just me or did Fedora font rendering just hit perfection as soon as I upgraded to 38 on my 1920 x 1080 Dell U2414H? My fonts now look mint. I have been using Fedora workstation for 10-11 years now as my work NUCs, my laptop and my companies computer operating systems. I got completely sick of supporting broken MS Windows. We run NUC's and Dell XPS13's. Fonts always look mint on XPS13's and 4k 24" Dell monitors. But right now my 1920 x 1080 monitor is so crisp!

  • Im really wondering which Linux os would be best for gaming on a Beelink Ser5 5800h.. Pop OS & Nobara seems like a winner but i definitely want Chimera just wondering why Batoceta isnt mentioned in any of the distros..

  • Fedora Core 2 used to be my favorite, then 6. Fedora remains.

  • I just installed fedora 38 after viewing this video. Thanks

  • Can someone recommends distro for gaming?
I'm a Windows user since forever and wherever I looked, distros support nVidia (not AMD gpu).

  • Hi, whats the best distribution for beginners? Thanks!

  • After using Ubuntu 23.04 I see there's not much difference between this 2 distros. I'll give it a try anyway but using Gnome and not KDE because it is a nigthmare when it comes to configure and setup apps and other things (LOL)

  • Fedora and Arch Flavours are my favourite.

  • Great channel, thanks. I'm interested in the Sericea "spin" of Fedora 38.

  • nice t shirt…..say hallo from Indonesia😀😀😀

  • I formatted Fedora after just 7 days because it was unusable for me (I'm an Android developer). It's a horror story, for example, Flutter couldn't even detect Android Studio installed through Flatpak or any other way. The system isn't as optimized as macOS, and in many aspects, it's much worse than Windows, specifically in terms of productivity and availability of applications, which is close to zero.

  • just put Fedora 38 on my Asus gaming pc I no longer used. Surprised how well it works.

  • Why debian 12 gnome feels so much snappier than fedora 38 gnome?

  • Pipewire sucks all the way. Volume too low, sound not good on Lenovo Ideapad 5. Looks like need to switch to Mac.

  • I had so many issues with fedora installs years ago, I wasn't even thinking about trying it again. However, while studying for the RHCE I needed a free distro now that Cent has pretty much become the same thing as Fedora, I thought I would give it a try! I have to say I'm impressed with what they've done with it and I hope it continues to gain traction in the market. Hopefully flatpak will help with that adoption as well, because the non-standard areas of linux really do hold it back to some degree.

  • Stick to Windows. Linux will never be mainstream

  • Which Distro would you rather between POP_OS and Fedora and why?
    Awesome video as always!

  • Its nice to see viable alternatives to Windows since Microsoft is pushing for a subscription based Windows. Fedora is modern and still gives you that sense of privacy in contrast to big brother Microsoft.

  • Great video and thank you for explaining the issues with GNOME 44. My take however is different then yours. Fedora should have been aware of the short falls of GOME 44 and they should have included an earlier version of it in the OS. It is not their fault that GNOME fed up but they should not let that impact the quality of Fedora 38.

  • Which is better? Fedora or Nobara Linux?

  • i have tried Ubuntu, Debian, Manjaro, and because im running the new RX 7600 GPU which needed some separate kernel patching to work properly, none of them will boot up for me its just a black screen………………accept you guessed it, Fedora.

Out of the box, it just bloody works, i love that fedora give you enough support and updates to get started, and from their you build your own linux desktop, i also respect and love what nobara do but i prefer to challenge myself a little bit.

  • Background app can be fixed by using extension built in "App indicator and Kstatus Notifier Item support..you will get in the top panel app that is in use, notification in case of using messageing apps and drop down menu to close this app..but i like to see it done by gnome by default..I am a very satisfied user od Fedora 38 and i can say that this is by far best distro out there at least for me..and i seen many other desktop environments but gnome is my best choice..As for the OS Fedora is top notch stable, very fast ( noticable faster than win 11) which i used last time about month ago..when i moved to fedora i knew it will be my next OS for the long long time..great job Fedora!!!

  • If I want to repurpose an existing computer (currently running Windows 11 Home) for Linux (Fedora for example), how do I know if the hardware will be supported? Is there documentation or even software that I can run on the WIndows machine to check that for me?

  • excelent video.. just curious, what did you use to make your channel intro? look awsome

  • Great video. Thanks! 🙂 As a Linux noob, I'd love to see you do a video on the different ways to set up a GUI app for saving and restoring Btrfs snapshots on Fedora 38. Timeshift, Snapper, Btrfs-assistant, etc. Which ones are easy or hard to set up and use? I'm a noob so I'm not interested in any CLI solutions for doing Btrfs snapshots. Thanks! 🙂

  • IMO you are a masochist for using any Linux distro as your desktop computer, I only ever use linux for server that is it, never found the exp of its desktop to be that good

  • I thought it's the time to switch back to Gnome and tried Gnome 44, but I'm wrong. Gnome 44 is still worse than KDE. For example, the file manager (nautilus?) is like a toy compared to Dolphin, lacks of many features.

  • Using Fedora 38 but KDE. Why ? Because I use to get asleep with my laptop on the stomach, while looking You Tube😀 And there is option to power down after 20 ( or how much you want ) minutes of mouse inactivity. Something for which you have to install additional software on GNOME… cone heads developers…. By the way , do you know any Linux distro, which has built-in option to show CPU temperature, Fan speed, in the taskbar ? and to alert when a limit is reached ? For what is useful ? Well cone heads developers forget to think about this …

  • I'm really disappointed with the direction this DE is heading. Out of the box it's straight up unusable for me without a dozen extensions that may or may not work with the next iteration. It also has too much apple sauce in it too if you catch my drift 😅

  • Anyone actually installed LXQt spin in VMWare? After installation and reboot, it just stuck on some empty screen with one button that open terminal, no UI, no menu, nothing else

  • Your right about getting things done, I have updated software and extension but left the OS alone these couple of releases to see where things are going with GTK4 and how it effects my work flow.

  • Going back to f37. Fedora is falling behind their quality control. Very buggy

  • Ive been using this distro for a bit and i love it things just work out of the box.

  • I tried to install Fedora 38 with some success, after I managed to get through the horrendous disk partitioning setup….all then went well until the shell kept crashing, I persevered, but still the shell crashed. You have to do a lot to get Fedora usable as it comes with little finish or polish, but after installing tweaks, extension manager and critical extensions it starts to get to the Ubuntu standard.

But ultimately I gave up, as it appeared unstable and slow so ended up installing Ubuntu 23.04 which ran like a dream, including the installer

  • Quite an informative video. I may try Fedora soon.

Time flies, isn't it? You look so different now 🙂 .

    Cheers!

  • I find GNOME's "justifications" for the baffling decisions they make to be a very long, very slow standup comedy routine.
