Steps To Repair Corrupted SD Card-

1. Change the card adapter, phone, and computer, I mean try the card with different devices and check if it is working.
If it is working with a different adapter/device then your device has a problem.
2. Check if the Card Pins have any black deposits like a black spot or dots then clear it with some sharp tools.
3. If the card is being detected on Windows PC even with an error then it is a good sign.
4. Plug in the card and open cmd as admin.
Type chkdsk /f card_letter:
It will try to repair the card.
5. You can also try to change the drive letter from the disk management window.
6. Format SD card.
7. Format the card via cmd.
8. Check if the card is showing as unallocated in disk management.

Disk Check & letter change method will allow to fix damaged sd card without losing data, but if you need to format the card you will lose the data.

  • Sir, I did format my sd card with comand prompt, and was recovering data through Recova app..then my laptop suddenly had started updating and I lost my recova progress..I started recovery process again, but it again said to format the sd card, and now I can't do it through command prompt, it says, already partition created. Please help, what should I do..Will I be able to recover my data from sd card?

  • I recovered data videos after watching couple of videos including yours, which is simple and easy to follow. First I tried disk name change. But I got message disk Corrupted. Then through Search Command prompt chkdsk f/ etc etc.. computer reviewd all files .No bad sector detected. it took few minutes then listed all file details. After checking again all files recovered .
