Take a look how you can fix Opera can not play video in Linux such as Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS, Zorin, and other distributions. In my test, Opera for Linux works pretty fine with YouTube and Facebook videos.

Unfortunately, there are some websites where video doesn’t play. Instagram keep show me static image while Twitter says the media could not be played. Installing chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra is no longer work.
But you no need to worry because we can fix Opera Linux video problem with FFmpeg prebuilt for NW.js. It’s a prebuilt binaries with proprietary codecs for Linux, Microsoft Windows, and macOS.
Hope this video helps you to get rid of video playback issue on Opera browser. Consider subscribing to get latest how to install, configure, use Linux, or if you like what you see. Thank you!.
