High-speed racing using teleoperation over 4G/LTE
It’s fun doing system testing at Voysys!
By deploying our teleoperation system on small Jetson Nanos onboard 1:8 scale electric racing cars, we are able to test the system under extreme conditions, racing at full speed. Any latency peaks during such a race would be fatal to the driver, so it’s a way for us to make sure our system always avoids them accordingly.
These cars use dual 4G/LTE links over a public Swedish mobile network, and we measured the true glass-to-glass latency (from camera lens to computer screen) to below 50 ms.
