Welcome to EduTechGeeks your tech learning journey with straightforward tutorials and insights.

ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) is a fundamental networking protocol used to map IP addresses to MAC addresses on a local network. When a device needs to communicate with another device within the same subnet, it uses ARP to discover the MAC address associated with the destination IP address. This process involves broadcasting an ARP request packet onto the network, asking “Who has this IP address?” The device with the matching IP address then responds with its MAC address. ARP operates at the data link layer (Layer 2) of the OSI model and is crucial for the proper functioning of Ethernet networks, enabling devices to establish communication by translating network layer addresses (IP addresses) into link layer addresses (MAC addresses) dynamically.
