  • still doesnt work.. the file size is 0 and i dnt know how to get it back 🙁

  • damn still did not work. I am trying to open excel expert practice workbooks

  • issue is as is …………………….This error might appear because an antivirus program is not allowing the file to open. This can be caused by either:

The antivirus program needs to be updated due to a compability problem with this program.

There is a virus in the file, but the antivirus program cannot remove or process the virus that it has found.

In either case, the file you are attempting to open should be considered as infected until you have updated your antivirus software to the latest updates available from the vendor. All major antivirus software manufacturers have created updates to address known compatibility problems with Microsoft Office programs. They also usually provide a virus signature file that is available for download from the Internet and must be updated regularly to properly scan for all known forms of viruses.

If you are experiencing this problem on a computer where a new version of antivirus software was recently installed, connect to the Internet and download the latest updates available from the manufacturer.

If you are experiencing this problem on a computer where the latest version of the software is installed, all signature files are up to date, and the file will not open (but other files do), then the file may be infected with a virus and the antivirus program cannot remove the infection.

The file could also be corrupted and cannot be properly processed by either the antivirus software or the affected Microsoft Office program. In this case, it may be necessary to attempt recovery of the file using the related recovery utilities that may be available with the program, although not all program have file recovery or repair capabilities.

  • Gracias me funcionó, pensé debía volver a repetir mi trabajo y gracias por los subtítulos 🫡

  • These two methods none of them worked for me this is so annoying

  • In my case there was no file but eitherway i kept getting this message.
    I even re-installed M365 completely.
Turned out that Kutools plugin was the cause.
Disable and restart and it was gone.
After that Kutools could be re-enabled again.

  • None of the methods above worked for me nor did the others that I tried. I just had to restore my file to an older version of the file. And it did the job. right click on the file, go to show more options, then click on version history choose the time or the day the file was still working or could be opened, and then click Restore. Try and see if your file can be opened after that, keep in mind you will lose data that was saved after the time or date you chose. If that data is important, then don't try this.
