  • New to the channel and appreciate you sharing your story and was a bit refreshing to hear the "good with the bad" and appreciate the delivery style. I remember when I worked overseas, there were always a few cable dawgs (what they called themselves) that wanted to learn networking, and I mentored a few. There was only ever 2 to my knowledge that pursued it fully and got a networking position, and hearing their stories as well, I can understand how different factors come into play (feeling intimidated, or knowing your craft of layer 1 through and through, and just the fact of learning something new and all that comes with along with it being hard to get experience). Definitely hoping you got your CCNP by now and perhaps CCIE 🙂 but cool hearing your story after it popped up in my feed today! Wishing you all the best.

  • ur video hit home 4 years after u posted cause i just went 2 write today and i got it….im hoping i start getting offers:)

  • That lady who went from homeless to CCIE is also pretty crazy.

I love hearing about these kinds of stories.

  • Thankyou for your video! I almost gave up on the CCNA until I was on the internet and ran into some practice questions. I intended to do them and the result was amazing, I realized that the amount of questions I scored right was fairly good. Just imagine if I was focused and set my mind to the CCNA ? Well that's what kind of motivated me as well as your video. Thank you very much for the inspiration!!!

  • I spent a year studying for the CCNA 200-301. All legit courses from udemy and used Boson Netsim and Exsim. Took the test in the summer and failed. I am 50 and still want to have a career and am studying again. I hope I can pass.

  • Thanks for sharing your journey, I agree with you layer 1 gets tired really quick. I'm trying to help a friend see there are other layers in life. Congrats

  • Can CCNA be a good fit for someone with no prior experience or background in networking?

  • Of all the IT, success, career videos I have seen on the internet, this is by far the best one I have ever seen to me. This video and what you have gone through translates to almost every single person I met in school and in the field who were like me; self study monsters. Thank you ver much bro. Seriously.

  • Dude I have a ECE degree and I am building a homelab and came across your channel, I also have severe failure aversion/anxiety and I am still working on it, but brick by brick. It was extremely hard for me to get my first job, but once you get it, it become second nature and as you said anything is possible and life becomes easier as you face newer challenges

  • Hey Aaron, I'm a truck driver trying to make the switch into networking, I'm currently on cybrary learning there and just trying to soak up all the knowledge I can, like you said study to actually study. I have no IT experience but I am a very fast learner and had always had an interest in anything to do with computers..Any advice you got for me man?
    Awesome video btw. 👍🏻

  • Hi Aaron engineered,
I hope you’re doing great, I need advice please. I did Ccna enterprise and ccnp enterprise within 3 months and also it was self studies I mean I didn’t go class I learned my self. Also I did get a job because I’m from UK we’re locked down since December. Do you think I can get a job or I will continue to get ccie enterprise?
    Many thanks Aaron.

  • How do you feel about nexgent I was accepted into the course after passing the pre test for 0$ tuition up-front. Would you say self teaching is the way to go as I always self taught but wanted to get into a boot camp style to learn towards my CCNA faster but not sure on what to do
