  • Awesome video sir…Really helped a lot…Love from India.❤🇮🇳

  • another asshole who doesn't know that folders can just be copied without deja dup

  • Thanks for the demo. One question: if you are doing incremental bkups, is there a way to choose to restore from a historical list of a particular file? It kind of seems to me you have to hunt around in all the backups to find the different versions of a file you want to restore.

    Thanks for your help 🙏

  • Do you run it as administrator (root) or user, and if user does it include hidden files and folders?, also is Deja-dup safe for HIPAA medical info?

  • Question: I have an old Mac mini Server here. I am planning to put Ubuntu on it, and turn it into a file server for the family. Using Samba. I would use the hard drive in the Mac mini for the file server. I want to attach an external hard drive for backup. I could use this software to make this backup, correct? Or am I missing something?

  • Does the backup include everything installed like Pihole and other things?

  • Thanks for your tutorial video.

I'm not sure if it's related to my ubuntu version(20.04), my deja-dup version seems like different with yours. When I follow the instruction, I only see and choice the specific backup time. I can't see the files in the backup folder in the vidio 6:42. ( https://youtu.be/YRr1uSRzFdI?t=402 ) I want to know how to check the files in the backup time folders?

And the second question: Could you teach about how to backup the whole system and restore to another pc with deja-dup or other graphical backup tools?

Thank you very much for your teaching and sharing.

  • Exactly what I was looking for. Short, clear and simple.

  • Will this setup backup your gnome extensions/settings installed, terminal preferences, apps installed and UI layout? I know I've made adjustments as well to my grub file which I'm not sure that would be saved as well.

  • Thank you for a very clear tutorial. I had made a backup using BACKUP and could not figure out how to restore individual files. You made me aware of Deja-Dup which I thought was in BACKUP. Now I have the specific file restored. Much appreciated.

  • Thank you for the clear and concise tutorial – takes a lot of the uncertainty out of the process for me! I appreciate you used Deja Dup as well
