How to be Invisible Online (and the hard truth about it)…

Don’t be fooled … Occupy The Web (OTW) tells us the hard truth about being anonymous online. The brutal truth: Will using your neigbors wifi keep you anonymous? Can you hide from the NSA? Can you hide from Google and other companies? Will Tor help you? Will Proxy Chains help? Which phone do you need to use – Android or iPhone or something else? Which operating system – Windows, macOS or Linux? What is the truth? What do you need to use?

  • Is booting from usb drive safe?
Software could still save something on your usb thumbdrive.
A burned cd/dvd is the only safe way to boot a ram based system..

  • You can always bribe some homeless druggies to get a phone simcard , bank account and binance account for you for a price. one of the place is Craig list.

travel to some tourist place to send emails or do whatever you want and destroy your temp phone and simcard.

  • You know you can type 3-4 characters and hit TAB to autocomplete the name of the file, directory or command you want to type…. and I'm an Windows guy 😒

  • More challenging in the US? NSA has it's fingers all over the world, add Five Eyes to it, Interpol etc

  • Alright, enough of me being jealous. I am going to start learning linux and Cybersecurity. I am become Mr. Robot

  • The fact that he’s anonymous in this interview just makes him that much more credible lol

  • There are continously new ways are getting discover to get someones identity so the best way is to stay way from digital world

  • How can he be anonymous if he’s speaking with his own voice? If the NSA (or local intelligence agency) wants to know who you are they only have to search for your voiceprint on a regular phone network or triangulating on YouTube or something.

What scares me most about lack of anonymity and the harvesting of chats and posts and internet activity it that AI and law enforcement can’t distinguish irony or black humor from genuine intention (or they could construe something you said or wrote in jest as evidence to support their case against you). “I would kill for a steak!” “I think we should eat the rich.” “Yesterday, I grabbed his pussy too…” might be obviously comedic to a well-read human, but other innocent statements might be construed as highly incriminating. It’s happened to me in real life.

And then you may say or do something that you aren’t aware that is illegal. Ignorance of the law isn’t a valid defense… even though police and lawyers and judges and lawmakers are uncertain of the law and debate the nuances and often have to send a question of detail to a high court judge (or Supreme Court panel) for a ruling. Just think of how many times you got a fine for an obscure parking or traffic law that you weren’t aware of or that hadn’t been explained clearly.

But then what if you do something that is deemed as illegal but which shouldn’t be. Remember that being gay was illegal (and in some countries is punishable by death). Alan Turing was convicted of being gay and forced to take arousal-suppression drugs that ultimately killed him. Marijuana is still illegal in many (Western, “democratic”) countries, but is becoming legal. So you are a criminal in one country or one era, but innocent in another country or era.

And then what about when we (usually teenagers or young adults) do stupid things because of our youth or through peer or media influence? These thoughts and actions will stay linked to you for life, no matter where you are in the world.

  • 2:20 "… in some circumstances with yagi antennas, and what have you, you can pick up wifi for a
    little…[*obvious edit*]…or two, all right?"

  • Me watching this on Windows PC while using google chrome and connected to an ISP 💀

  • so, what this is saying? ONCE on TOR your anonymous or do I need to also go through a PROXY or VPN / change IP?

  • I find it funny that people care about what commercial interests do to track you. What's the worse they can do, try to sell you something? Really? That's something that bothers you? And they don't care about government organizations tracking you, that can ruin your life, imprison you or kill you.

  • I would recommend going back to using a Pentium 1 and dos machine, enjoy some 8 bit or 16 bit sounds cards, you can enjoy a local network at home. That would be the most reliable solution.

  • “ThE NsA SeNdS Me MeSsEgEs Im So cOoL” lol gtfo dude. I’m not 12 anymore.

  • Does anyone know anything about duckduckgo? i was hoping they yalked about it, but since they didn't, I'm concerned about it now

  • Im soo greatful for this info, im adding knowledge to my database. learning alot about being anonymous.

  • Some of My neighbors hacked my phone. Told me they are tech savy. Two claimed to be Antifa. They need long jail time for doing this.

  • Wow this guy is very good and explains very well, thank you very much I'm tired of these companies spying on me
