  • My imac 2009 doesn't work, I've tried several ways but nothing works, could you tell me if there's anything I can do?

  • I thought i was going crazy, but i was doing it right, just not with a wired keyboard?… to the thrift store it seems

  • ah thanks. Now I can at least try to fix my friends MAC.

  • I install the new SSD on my old Mac9,1 and when I try to boot windows 10 from USB it always stuck on loading screen and never let the startup show and gives error with blue screen and reboot. Any soluitons ?

  • My iMac 2009 (24' early) is slow at start up and I think it doesn't always register Alt press (also Windows wired keyboard). Want to share what works for me 100% of the time:
    1) Start and pressing Alt quickly and repeatedly
    2) Start holding the power button for ~3 seconds
    3) Release power button, but keep doing 1 until booting options appear

  • Why doesn't the ALT Key work using a wireless keyboard? I don't have a wired keyboard around anymore and only use microsoft wireless (Logitech) keyboards with my iMac. Help?!

  • how did you connect the windows keyboard on your Imac??

  • Bro I’ve watched 100 different videos of people saying use the windows key plus r. Finally this video works.

  • Why exactly Control(command) + 9 combination does not work … does this depends on age of the iMac or it’s the keyboard?

  • Finally the answer how to reboot with non MAC keyboard…. I literally went mad already trying out ALL the reboot possibilities…

  • Hello, Hope you are good, i use MAC 2010 with mac os x lion, and im trying to install with usb bootable, when i do Alt key no hard drive is comming but appears server connected. How do i solve it? Help me please

  • I have 2 iMacs, one works fine with the alt key, the other doesn’t I also can’t access the recovery drive like at all, and when I try to reinstall macOS it says “server could not be contacted in time” any tips on how to fix this?

  • This has been doing my head in trying to upgrade the os on my old 2012 imac, no one else has pointed out that you need to push the on/off button on the back of the machine. Hitting restart hasn't worked, but this worked the first time. There are some very well-intentioned YouTubers offering excellent guides here that forget that fundamental bit of advice. Well done for the simplicity of this.

  • Great Video thank you, ya got me in the direction I needed to be, I had to unplug the mouse and only have keyboard and usb drive plugged in, and holding alt wouldnt work for me I had to tap the heck outta it, and the right alt as others mentioned, but I got there, thank you.

  • i NEEDED this vid, i just fixed an imac with a dead drive and put in one that i had and forgot it has windows 10! and i didnt know how to change the os and now i just found this vid and i know how to change the os, your a lifesaver!

  • I've booted usb many times I've cleaned the os but i can see usb in disk utilities but its not showing in boot menu

  • sh*t!! Thanks dude! I thought i was gonna have to do a freaking recovery and install old OS! I was able to use a Bluetooth keyboard. Its loading now
