HOW TO CONNECT WINDOWS SHARED PRINTERS USING CUPS IN UBUNTU 18.04

HOST OS (WINDOWS)
CLIENT OS (UBUNTU 18.04)

1. Download printer driver e.g. (HP, EPSON, CANON, …) NOTE: LINUX DRIVER
E.g. HP Driver (Ubuntu 18.04)

For installation: Follow the instruction provided by the vendor
2. Add printer
Go to settings Printers – Add Additional Printers Settings
– Add Network Printer – Find Network Printer

IN FIND NETWORK PRINTER
— Enter Host (WINDOWS IP): 172.16.49.XX
— Then Find (Searching) Wait a moment
— It will prompt user credential (AD)
— Provide your information
— Choose the authentication details now
— Input your password and username (Your AD credentials)
— Then click verify to check if the SHARED PRINTER is accessible
— The click forward if verification is successful
— Wait while for searching driver
— Select your printer model e.g. HP
— Then click forward
— Choose the driver for your printer model e.g. (HP smart tank 500)
— Then click forward and apply
— Try print test page
