How to Create a Windows 10 Image Backup using Ubuntu

A system image is an exact copy of a drive. A system image includes the drivers plus all installed programs.

1. Download Ubuntu ISO

2. Burn Ubuntu ISO onto a Disc

3. Change the boot sequence in BIOS

  • Hello I wanna creat server backup using raspberry pi 4, is it possible? Thanks

  • I have a doubt,
if my Windows gets corrupted and I restore the Windows using the same img in ubuntu, will the Windows work fine like before?

  • Is windows ok after restoring from image? Can anyone confirm that?
An untested backup = no backup at all.
(when installing backup image on the same hd/laptop as image was made from)

  • Great video, short, informative and exactly what I needed. Thanks a lot!

I got some questions though, does this image save an exact copy of the drive, including partitions and boot stuff and does it restore them also? Also can I restore that image on a different (same size or bigger) drive?

  • Very nice I never thought that it is that simple 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • If the hard disk that contains the OS says partition instead of one drive are there extra steps that should be taken?

  • the backup is 54gb but there was only 11gb on the drive why is this?

  • Can you do a tutorial on how to use squid3 and put username and password with it?

  • Thanks for the great video Miguel, you rock and so does Linux.

  • Thank you, it seems very useful.

I would like to backup my computer to an USB drive.
Does it work with every windows ( xp, 7, …) ?
Is it possible to backup all the hard drive ( MBR and every partitions) ?
