ubuntu download
I did the procedure 5 times, just like in the video, but it doesn’t work!! When I click install from a bootable USB flash drive – an error (mac mini 2018) – "you need to reinstall the MacOS on the selected disk"
What to do?
Great video! Very easy to follow. I just wish my speakers or bluetooth worked :/
Did you ever get the sound to work? The speakers on my 12" MacBook 2015 don't 🙁
keyboard and mouse don't work
Thanks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have a Mac m2 is it possible to boot Ubuntu from a usb on apple silicon
what to do with t2 chip not clear ?
The basic function of a good OS is that it can easily be installed and made use of. Linux is not a good OS on this basis. Check the comments.
When Linux developers have the common sense to create usable tools, installations, drivers and utilities with a standard GUI format, the platform will be usable to a wider audience. Apple and Microsoft figured this out in the 90s and don’t make their “non computer nerd” user base have to navigate scripting, command prompts, esoteric compiler libraries etc just to use their machines.
That’s why Linux is largely a computer enthusiasts’ OS. It’s also why Linux users can’t “understand” why more people don’t use the OS.
It’s an attitude and OS akin to Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Brilliant but dysfunctional. Hard to do every day things with little support. Can’t read social cues etc.
I wish the reverse were true but every time I have tried installing, I faced issues of dys or non functionality, leading me down that dark path of forums, faqs, YouTube, downloads, trial, error and finally resignation.
The community is so small that issues are not encountered en masse enough to be addressed by the devs or documented online in forums or faqs etc. So the user is basically alone with a bunch of random documentation, posts, ideas and mainly questions.
In short, despite its purported performance advantages, Linux remains a total PITA due to its developers blindness to real world functionality and lack of empathy to average users wanting to use a basic machine for simple productivity. The community and developers lie to themselves in a tired narrative about its genius efficiency and stability, marred only by an endless and unsupported stream of dissatisfied users, hearts tainted by villainy or stupidity.
Just check the comments.
Confused by the USB part. Do I need an actual usb drive to store the Linux program on? Very new to this…
Help me please! I installed Ubuntu on my 2009 Mac and it shows 4 windows at once on the monitor and the same thing is mirrored everywhere. How to make one desktop, and not 4 at the same time?

im taking a Operating Systems class and they told us to install ubuntu on a virtual machine but meh i dont like vm i was like i rather dual boot it so i can get the full performance, so yeah thank you for the tutarial i think that might be the best tutorial on this on youtube
in ubuntu partition you need to change mount to /
This worked! 🙂 Got Linux Mint on my old Macbook now! 🙂 Thank you for the clear guidance about the partitions. That was very helpful. Now next thing I will try is to dual boot fedora on my actual Macbook (2019). There is a github project which already includes all the drivers for the T2 chip. You do great videos, thanks again!
great guide by the way im trying to follow this guide for the parrotOS installation but I couldn't get passed the partition section.
im looking to find a way to manually partition ParrotOS the same way but in the partition menu, it doesn't allow me to create a EFI partition there are different names for them.
could anyone help me pass this?
Thank you, i was going crazy trying to install Linux on my macbook😂
Do you plan to make it triple-boot with windows lol
(I mean, bootcamp can create windows BUT that has to happen BEFORE you create partitions. I think it is possible if you do bootcamp first.)
Mine doesn't read The USB driver even after I have used balenaetcher. Do you know why? =s
Is it a must to have a bootable drive during the installation?
