Video Fixes

–Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

You can try and disable driver signature enforcement. In order to improve security in the Windows operating system, Microsoft introduced driver signature enforcement.

It’s a feature that is designed to ensure that users of Microsoft can only load drivers that have been signed by Microsoft. This though can bring with it some inconveniences for users. If you you want to use some less official drivers, old unsigned drivers or drivers developed by yourself, this feature needs to be disabled first before you can move on.

–Check SRT and BOOT Files
Sometimes when you see the automatic repair window you may see this fail and this is where it will record events from the startup process. One thing you can do is go and open this file up to see if it will give you any more details on what could be causing the issue.

C:WindowsSystem32LogFilesSRTSrtTrail.txt

Check for errors associated with the Boot Configuration Data store or BCD as it’s referred to.

bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootsect /nt60 ALL
bootrec.exe /fixboot

–Check USB devices

–CHKDSK
Use the CHKDSK command to check the file system and file system metadata of a volume for logical and physical errors.

CHKDSK /f /r c:

The /f switch will scan and attempt to repair errors
The /r switch looks to repair errors and scan for bad sectors.

–Check Hard Disk and Memory

Be careful when removing your memory as you ideally want to be using a static band and if not removed correctly it could damage your memory from a static shock which can be damaging to electronic devices or components.

  • Root cause found:
    Boot critical file C:EFIMicrosoftbootresourcescustombootres.dll is corrupt.

  • Thank you so much! None of these fixes ended up being necessary for me, but your direction on how to check srttrail logs helped me figure out my problem instantly, and this saved me a 30 minutes drive in the morning to a trusted tech store AND allowed me to continue academia tonight with my main PC without waiting and wasting time.

    for anyone else that may have the same problem ;

    Root cause found

    Caused by corruption with early launch anti malware driver via malware bites, fixed via disabling it ;

    Startup settings , restart , #8(disable early launch anti malware protection)

  • Sadly none of those worked for me and I’ve tired methods from two other videos. Given up at this point it’s going to a shop after 2 days of it freezing at 65% when updating windows 10

  • If none of this helps you disconnect the extra hard drives in your case once and then turn on your computer, my problem was solved after disconnecting the extra hard drives and then reconnecting my hard drives and the problem solved
