How to Install a Keylogger in Ubuntu

Tutorial on how to install Logkeys key stroke logger in Ubuntu.
I show the initial setup and how to get Logkeys to run at Bootup. This tutorial applies to all versions of Ubuntu, and I demonstrate it running in the latest version of Ubuntu 14.04 Alpha.

Logkeys is only an Alpha release, and sadly is no longer in development.

  • I did successfully installed it.But now I want to remove it. I can run it by typing logkeys but cant remove it by apt-get remove. Any help is appreciated. thanks.

  • Nice, rather funny 🙂

  • Nice tutorial , I have one minor issue though, I can't get the capital latter to register in the log file…ex , "Name" register to "ame" how to fix it? thanks.

  • The only way to actually "hack" people is to either phish for passwords (which is difficult and painstaking) or keylog someone.
For the average person, the best bet is to find a decent keylogger (like epiclogger or freestrokes) and then send it to people through skype/emails. (Keep in mind you can manually install keyloggers, but thats obviously far less effective).

The one i use currently is epiclogger, just because the interface is pretty easy to get a handle on, the only downside is that it cant pull ip addresses. You can however get keylogs, mouse clicks, screenshots, and even webcam footage though.

  • Which program do you use to record this tutorials?

  • Key loggers are evil. But I appreciate this video warning us. Thumbs up.
