Hi there, in this video I’m going to show you how to install the mod ‘Forge’ for Minecraft on windows. In this video I am going to be using windows 7 but the principle should be relevant for for both windows 8 and 10, enjoy!
Step one:
Head over to minecraftsix.com/minecraft-forge-api, which is linked in the description below. Once there scroll down ‘download links for minecraft forge API’ then select the relevant version to download. In this case 1.10.2
Step two:
The jar file will begin to download. Once it has finished make your way to your downloads folder or whatever folder you have set your browser to save downloads to.
Step three:
Open the jar file by double clicking on it or right clicking and selecting open. A small window will appear giving you three options. You can either install client, install server or extract its contents to a given location. If you want to use forge to install mods on your local minecraft client then select ‘install client’ and press ok.
Step four:
The installer will download relevant content and once it successfully installs a small message will show up. Click ok, you have successfully installed forge!
Step five:
To enable forge open your minecraft launcher and go down to profile in the bottom left hand corner. Opening the tab should reveal an option for ‘forge’. Click on it to enable it and play the game, thanks for watching!
