  • Cant access my pc after installing this, asks for password, i put in the password i created and says its wrong

  • Is possible install linux without going to boot options? Bc i hve cracked screen and i use video capture 😅😂

  • Every passing day I deal with Microsoft I lean closer and closer to installing Linux. Just need a USB and to gather everything I intend to backup. Out of curiosity, what is the gaming experience like, does this OS have any change in performance?

  • After using the desktop a few times with the Steam Deck and finding it pretty easy to navigate, as well as M$' most recent foolishness as of late, I'm ready to try Linux full time on a mini PC I've got on order as a media setup. Thank you for this easy to understand guide.

  • Disliked for recommending a distro that uses snap browsers by default which start browsers slower than on Windows.

  • Great video. my install seems like it is frozen at this command 1.789530 _ _sprint_symbol.isra.0+0x6d/0x140. Been frozen for about 30 mins. Any thoughts on this ?

  • Can I back up absolutely everything before installing linux? maybe it wont be worth it since I might need a huge extra drive to do so. I got a lot I dont want to lose, pics, docs, vids, game saves, settings, etc

  • I would love to see a video on installing a fresh Fedora install and setting up it for gaming + streaming with an Nvidia card

  • i just need 120$ to buy a USB drive and an SSD. as i have heard that flashing linux messes up and flashes something on the existing boot drive.

so, i'll just keep that windows SSD unplugged most of the time, and whenever i need ti use windws, it will just be a quick hardware open, swap, and close

  • Hi, i have installed that and now i don't know how to get connected in internet without ethernet :') please tell me how to connect with internet wifi without ethernet

  • To install Linux in 2024 as a beginner, follow these steps:

    1. Get an installer: Download a Linux install image from the distribution you've chosen.
    2. Prepare to Install Linux: Backup your data, check system requirements, and choose a distribution that meets your needs.
    3. Install Linux: Boot from the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install Linux on your computer.

To troubleshoot potential problems during the installation process, follow these steps:

    1. Check the Hardware: Ensure all cables are connected properly and there are no power outages.
    2. Use Commands: Use commands like sudo ethtool eth0 to check network connectivity and sudo dmidecode –type memory to check hardware reports.
    3. Troubleshoot Memory Issues: Run commands like sudo modprobe edac_core to check for memory issues.

By following these steps, you can successfully install Linux as a beginner and troubleshoot any potential problems that may arise during the installation process.

  • Thanks a lot for making this video, I haven't used Linux in years and this really made it easy to set it up again.

  • This is literally the first Linux video I have seen (as a windows user) that actually looks approachable for me. I have an i7-7700k and I have been dreading the need to buy a new PC with windows 11, when my current PC runs perfectly fine. Honestly this looks too good to be true… Is it really this easy? I'll have access to firefox, my steam games, and NO WINDOWS 11??? What is the catch…

  • I switched to mint 2 weeks ago ever since someordinarygamers released his linux install video. The UI was clean and impressive and lured me into the Linux experience. Although I had to use the terminal, it actually great that I can do things that I thought I can't do on windows.

  • Thanks man, im new to using a pc and Microsoft was killing me 🎉

  • I want to add one more sitting DISABLE SECURE BOOT if it is enable in BIOS settings, and everything will be just fine 👌

  • Good morning 🙂
Thank xou for the video! I recently started being interested in Linux and id appropriate your opinions about what and why are your favourite distros

  • Beware: Flatpaks and Snaps are slower and more bloated.

Native packages are often preferred if you have the option.

    AppImages are nice too.

  • You will probably need to disable secure boot when getting the UEFI boot sequence to be the USB stick.

  • I have been thinking about using Linux. Windows 11 can be a pain. For casual use (streaming, browsing, chatting) and gaming. I don't play any major popular online games besides Helldivers 2. The rest is SP games. Any Linux OS you would recommend?

  • Great content & English pronunciation 😊👍 but wanted to see deeper look on installation step, like using ext4 or others and custom partition markup (efi, boot, swap, etc)

BTW going to install Fedora 40 beta kde spin 😁 iso available in torrent downloads

  • I believe Fedora is in a good state for beginning users. The app store is very intuitive and ready to install flatpaks. But it's good to check out some videos on "what to do after installing Fedora".

  • KDE is good choice, personally i still stick to debian + Gnome. I'm just use to it really

You forgot to mention about "Secure boot" on many box machines like dell and lenovo it will have it on bydefault and will not allow you to install anything else then approved secureboot OS. I use to work with repair pc's and this was a common error we had from users that used linux

  • Great video! Just my 5 cents: At least on opensuse, i found that adding flathub through discover adds it for the root account, so to install update and manage flatpaks i have to use sudo/root permissions. Adding flathub trough CLI with option –user made the flatpak sudo independent and works properly. Also a nice addition to the video would be disabling or at least configuring secureboot, as some distros dont play along with it nicely, if there is not a shim efi file on the target partition

  • Hot to install Linux in 2024?
    Same as in previous years.

Looking forward to "How to install Linux in 2025"…

  • I suscribe because I've had a love-hate relationship with LInux and only recently went back after years of having issues where I'd use it for months and then it would just stop working when I did an update ot something. Glad to see that over the past 15+ years, it's gotten much better. Oh, I also subscribe because this guy is super cute 🙂

  • I'm not a religious person, and I have no intentions of worshiping a penguin. But I do recommend to all the cultists of Linux to seek a mental health doctor.

  • Follow up video: How to dual boot Windows and Linux and ways to dual booting, like is it going to be 2 OS partitions on the same drive or 2 OS on 2 separate drives. That can be super useful to people who can't part completely from Windows, also showing how it's done in real time can be assuring, see-to-believe satisfaction.

Side note: Windows is a bit different now with the Microsoft store, I can find pretty much all the web browsers I would use, Discord, Netflix, Whatsapp, VS Code and Visual Studio, PDF readers like Adobe Acrobatic, and a few more. Yes you still might have to navigate your way to the website for some programs, like LibreOffice because Microsoft, or some programs are better off download from their respective website like VLC, but it is like a quarter way to the store and three quarter internet browsing nowadays.

  • Hello Michael. I have a problem with my arch Linux. Everytime I want to record something with OBS, everything starts lagging and the footage is unusable. I'm on x11, Gnome 45.5, using Nvidia proprietary drivers. I'm using Ryzen 7 3700x paired with 32 gigs of ram and RTX 4070. even just the OBS preview of my desktop or a game drops frames.

  • I just installed Fedora on my Thinkpad wich is fully supported and it's a pure joy to use!

  • Distribution and Desktop Environment both matter equally

  • I don't understand why people keep recommending Ubuntu, Canonical is a horrible company, their Snap fetish is causing actual harm to end users (google fake crypto wallets on snap store), I'm also not keen on their release cycle and the ancient packages they tend to distribute, these days there are so many better alternatives.
Even Arch has lost its "elite" status in my opinion, I'm using Vanilla Arch (+ KDE) as my daily driver and it's fine, yet I'm far from a being a "Linux master".
Why not recommend Arch? Who doesn't like having the latest and greatest packages all the time, especially when you also game on Linux like myself?
But hey, that's just my opinion, not trying to attack you or anyone else for that matter for recommending/using Ubuntu, I'm just having difficulties understanding your choice.

Thanks for the video and keep it up, your videos are usually really good!
