In this video i am going to show you how to perform an Active Directory migration from Windows Server 2008 R2 to 2012 R2.

Tips and tricks:

1. Use Event Viewer to check for AD and DNS errors.
2. Use repadmin command to check AD replication.
3. Use dcdiag command to check the status of the Domain Controller.
4. Always perform a backup on your system before trying to migrate critical roles.
5. Always make a plan, with the desired state and try to stick to it.
6. Before demoting your old Domain Controller, shut it down for few hours and confirm everything is operational.
