How to Resize a logical volume in Centos 7

in this video I am going to show you how to extend your root or home directory file system partition using LVM. You might have low storage space and you need to increase the capacity of your partitions. This tutorial looks at how to extend storage in Linux using Logical Volume Manager (LVM).

  • Great video 👍

6:40 — Wondering whether one might utilise [MAXIMIZE] in cfdisk with respect to sda2

6:59 — I believe that one might utilise [TYPE] in cfdisk instead of gparted later on (8:38) to set the partition type.

15:37 — I believe that one might pass the -r flag to lvextend for concurrent resizing of the file system, at least with ext4. Though I am not sure about your xfs root example.

    Kindest regards, neighbours and friends.
